JJ Abrams pretends to be a true fan, so he makes lame attempts to prove his fanboi image. Michael Bay doesn't even try. He's not a fan, not really, the franchise is just giving him an excuse to play with big robots. It simply doesn't compute in his lizard brain why it would be so important to fans, if you're going to have a fucking dinobot T-Rex anyway, just fucking give people what they want. He's an asshole that way and it's no surprise four films in he's not interested in what Transformers fans really want to see.

Don't worry, they'll reboot these movies in 10 years probably. Fans are suckers, each time they promise to give them what they want, only to not deliver. Then they promise again next time, only so they can get suckered again. And so on and so forth.

What is being said here for the most part I agree with and makes complete sense. However if someone were to go up to Bay and say "You aren't giving Transformers fans what they want.", he will show them the money these films are making...wipe his ass with it and hand it to said person.

That's why I stated my confusion. Everyone says the same thing about these movies yet they are legitimate blockbusters which are making back their ridiculous budget and then some. If it isn't a broken formula dollar-wise why fix it?

I'm confused. I have yet to hear anyone say anything good about this film yet it was #1 again and falling just shy of the 200 million mark in the US alone! To top it off the Cinema Score for this is an A, which means audience reviews are highly positive.

Yup, but that is the demographic this movie is made for. That's why TMNT will do exactly the same and then some.
