    Horror Film Funding

Hi guys. My name is Matt, I'm a filmmaker, and recently I had someone agree to fund a large portion my next film. Now all I have to do is round out the final portion of the budget. I'm doing so in two ways. One is kickstarter, of course.

The second is through a green initiative that I starter with a local business.

Being horror fans I figured there might be one or two of you this would interest.

    Thanks

Sorry your funding was unsuccessful on kickstarter. But hey, don't stop there try indiegogo! Never give up on your dream projects and I'm sure it'll work out fine.

It's funny, usually whenever someone comes to ask to help fun for a project they have a passion for it usually gets struck down by someone who just looks at it as spam.

To which I WOULD HAVE agreed with IF it were spam about telling me to buy a watchtower or some crap, but to help fund a film project? Why is that such a bad investment?

Because he is never going to comeback and share progress on the film. He won't post pre-pro work, there won't be any bts production photos. Nothing that bothers to offer insight into the filmmaking process. So now rather than just dropping 1 post "hey buy the DVD of my new movie". They'll make two post. "Hey fund my new movie"... "Hey buy my new movie."

The OP is looking for a handout and nothing more. You are more than welcome to a put a buck in the beggar's cup.
