I missed the theatre run but saw it the other night at home.
Have to say, it's much better than the first one. More action-packed for sure. Smaug was truly a great villain - you could really sense the massive scale of him. The elf chick didn't bother me at all like I thought she would. I just hope they don't try to shoehorn a corny romance into it like the LOTR films did.
Overall, thought it was pretty damn solid. Give it a 7/10. Look forward to the next one.

Loved it. I didn't like the childishness of a couple of the villains of the first film, but I have no complaints with Smaug.
