Since Prometheus is obviously borderline for some I will change that pick to Evil Dead (2013, Fede Alvarez), sheesh.

I wouldn't consider it a horror flick either to be honest, but that's just me

Eh, whatever it's just a game. I changed it...no biggie. In the greater scheme of things it comes off more within the horror genre than let's say, Shaun of the Dead in my opinion.
I'm just trying to make my picks different and not falling back on movies that everyone KNOWS will be picked, yet movies everyone has probably seen.

Maybe next horror draft we do underrated horror flicks instead of people (admittingly me as well, but idc I love the movies I picked) picking the same old stuff?

I think the next draft I do anyway will be an all genre draft

It would be nice to see this game changed up some.
Something a little more chalanging, like one
Movie per decade.

I strongly disagree with that!
Comedy horror maybe, as Prometheus would be sci-fi horror (if you had to include horror into it even). Horror should make you scared or at least some variation of it (flinch at gore, lame jump gags, spooky suspense). SOTD made me laugh and Prometheus made me go "Ooh" and "Ah" and "Hmmm..."

I do agree with a game change next time around... and covering all genres would be a good start![]()

I don't agree with the generalization that a movie had to scare you.. There's plenty of older movies that are't scary but are labeled horror.

It's quite obvious the generalization of "horror" will vary from person to person and there actually is no 100% right or wrong with movies that are in that "grey" area. To disagree is fine, but if someone disagrees and tries to use their opinion as the final word is foolish.

I will be watching It's in the Blood before voting since I've had that one on my list for months. I now have an excuse to watch it much sooner than I would've. I've checked out Citadel & Seeding of a Ghost.
I've watched everything else that's been drafted so far except Ren's picks and the movie The Stuff.![]()

I'm going to watch Ren's pick Sleep Tight. Looks really interesting from the trailers I watched and seems be getting some good reviews. I need to watch more Spanish movies anyway.

I just say let folks draft what they want. If some people don't consider a film horror, then this will be reflected come voting time.
If people are intent on 'winning' this, then they will tend to stay away from ambiguous films where genre is concerned anyway. Horror, like a lot of other genres, is going to be subjective to the individual.
As for the whole 'scariness' thing, I can't really say that many (if any) horror films have ever truly scared me. Alien came close, but that was more to do with me jumping every now and then due to the fantastic mood and atmosphere the film created.
