I know, what I meant was swapping it for a different movie entirely, my fault on the ambiguous wording.

I love all of those movies on DM and hommies list. I didn't want to use a point scale but I had to because it was so difficult for me to choose which list to vote for.

Had to go with DM although it was a hard choice since Hommie's list was really good as well. Dm had a great list though. Sadly, I haven't seen most of Ren's list.

I do not understand your logic here, you say you don't get how someone can choose movies from my list, but you have not seen many film on my list. How can you not understand something that you did not even know how it is or if you like it or not. It would be like saying "I don't get how anyone can enjoy Cabin in the woods, which incidentally I never seen it"

Dead 2 or hellraiser.. Shit, if Dm had just those two he should win ahead of Renac's just because as strt said, they're horror royalty and are better mvoies.. I really don't get why I still play in these drafts, because I get annoyed by people's votes... Between people just voting for their friends, people voting because one movie On a list is their favorite or people voting because they don't like someone. Orlock, I am probally digging my grave by venting but we'll consider it a conspiracy :elstare:
But you have not seen Sleep tight, again how can you establish then that comparison? Also as Blood said one votes according to how and if you enjoy the movies from a list, not according to its repercussion to the history of horror films. At least I think or thought that one votes in that way, but I understand and accept if others use other ways to vote.

Also, you say "are better movies", but what does that mean considering also that you have not seen all the movies that you try to compare.

I don't see the point in pretending to like certain films more than others just because they're critically acclaimed, spawned a million sequels, cross-overs, and copycats, or because of some cult status that the horror majority bless them with.

Film is subjective; it's an art form. You can't quantify art, and people are going to like different things.
Exactly what I think. Tastes are subjective too, and how people enjoy them, it's a completely personal appreciation. One like certain things regardless of alleged standards established about some movies. That is, you like something or not, and does not depend on how it is viewed by the majority or by their place in history (which no one disputes). It's completely personal. It's about being honest with yourself, with your tastes, and what do you enjoy at the end of of the day.

Voted on movies I liked, dmhead would win this in a landslide because Hellraiser is possibly my favorite horror movie ever. And I don't want my rant to be seen as me swaying anyone vote, I don't care if someone thinks Renac's movies are the bees knees... I just don't comprehend how a half hour short movie, no matter how amazing you think it is, beats out two of what are considered the greatest horror films ever... My only way to rationalizem it Is I hate the Beatles... I hated how everyone told me they were the best band ever... So to that degree I don't like them... But I do agree they probally are the best band ever.
It is not about what movie beats to another, it comes to taste. Never happened to you that you have enjoyed something whether they are classic or not?

With regard to the analogy that you raise, I understand you, but what I'm saying is that, using your analogy, no one could argue the place that The Beatles takes in history and how they have influenced countless genres and bands, but that does not means that you enjoy them or you find yourself at the obligation to choose them over another band that you love deeply, even when they are not well known.

Dark God, I am not criticizing your way to vote, I was just trying to understand you and explain mine. I accept the way in which you vote.

Finally Congratulations to Dmhead777 and Hommie.

I will have to agree with Ren, classics can be subjective. To me Ren's picks can be seen as classics or favourites by some along with what DM and Hommie picked. They may not be well known as the other picks but in all honesty what does this mean in the end? After all this is about which list we like the most and not which list has the most popular or considered classic movies in it.

Quite frankly you all had great movies in your lists it just happens that Ren had movies that I hold dearly to me in it is all.

Anyway unless a hundred people all of a sudden pop on here to vote congrats on winning DMHead777

But I think that is the exact principle of a classic.. That it is well known. All of Renac's films could be great movies, but they fit more into the cannon of cult movies. I'm sorry I'm being a annoying bitch about this, but fuck it I like to debate and argue.

Classics are more like what I am going up against with Get Some. The films he picked are classic and quite possibly the best selection of films in this game.

I know my list has no classics but I picked plain 'ole solid horror flicks just to have some fun. Of course my luck I pull up a matchup against Get Some who's list is fucking Godly.
