    Rigor Mortis (2013)

In this eerie and chilling, contemporary, action/special effects laden homage to the classic Chinese vampire movies of the 1980's, writer-director-producer, Juno Mak makes his feature directorial debut. Co-produced by J-Horror icon Takashi Shimizu, and reuniting some of the original cast members of the classic Mr. Vampire series, RIGOR MORTIS is set in a creepy and moody Hong Kong public housing tower whose occupants we soon discover, run the gamut from the living to the dead, to the undead, along with ghosts, vampires and zombies.

Nice trailer. Ghosts, vampires, zombies, directed by the writer of Revenge: A Love Story and it's a movie from Hong Kong? I'm interested.

I personally didn't really like the movie--there were some serious pacing issues. The ghost fighting scenes were the only thing that kept me watching (as they were visually stunning), but they were too few and far in between. I'm sure if I were into Chinese folklore I could appreciate the movie more, but I wasn't impressed otherwise. I'd give it a low 6/10, but that's me being nice.

I have it a 6/10. There were some great video shots, but in the whole, the movie was just average.
