Dawn of the Dead ('78) Back In Theatres -> in 3D

    http://moviepilot.com/#stories/10588...channel-horror

Listen up, fans of splatter! Word on the street is that George A. Romero‘s horror classic Dawn of the Dead is next in line for the 3D treatment!

Speaking to Deadline at Comic-Con, the movie’s producer Richard P. Rubinstein revealed that a 3D Dawn of the Dead is still very much in the pipeline:

We want to get our partners’ money back but since no financing came from distribution sources, we’re totally free… It is getting the same kind of care, love and attention to detail that went into converting The Titanic.

I usually don’t like 3D. But this? Seeing 1978’s Dawn of the Dead in a theater? I would watch it standing up, in a theater that smells like pee, with a zombie stabbing me in the spleen with a plastic fork the entire run time. That’s how much I want this.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not a big fan of 3D, but I would go see this....being it is one of my all time favorite movies (that includes all genres)

Love the movie, would love to see it in a theater... but no desire to do so in 3D.

They play old movies like this in theater all the time, at least here in Chicago. I don't need to subject myself to a classic in 3D though

I don't like 3D because the glasses pinch my nose and it's uncomfortable for 2 hours. Those cheap, plastic stupid things.

I kinda don't think 3D would translate well with 70s era effects, especially the ones seen in that movie.

If it were the movie itself, perhaps with every scene from the extended cuts and Argento cuts all together with the US/Goblin soundtrack. It would be damn worth it.

3D by itself is just a gimmick being used to cash grab movie goers in an era where ticket prices are getting higher and higher, along with probably less and less people going to the theaters. While some (including me) enjoy the theater experience. Its definitely not something everybody enjoys, and people just have many other avenues to see movies now, and with similar theater type setups.

You're prolly right, but it'll be fun to see it on the big screen.

not to sure about the urine and utensil thing, but yeah - hell yeah even to a theater experience.

Used to see it in theatres all the time in the 80's when I was like 12 years old at midnight. Maybe 5 times all together. That, THE WALL, The Song Remains The Same, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I have no interest in seeing this in 3D.
Big screen maybe, but like DM mentioned a lot of places in Chicago play old horror movies all the time. I'd rather watch an old horror movie with fans that will actually enjoy it and not just because it's 3D and has zombies.

I was lucky enough to see it at a midnight show around 1983 in Times Square( I was 12), it was still in a theatrical run there. It blew my mind and changed movies forever for me. I would love to see it in a theatre again, but the whole 3D thing just seems un-necessary.
