Boy shoots fat mom in stomach (80's)

I remember flipping through the channels one night and started watching a movie where this teen boy goes into the room where his fat curly haired mom was and shoots her in the stomach. I'm pretty sure she had short curly hair. When he shot her, blood started coming out of her mouth. Something like that wouldn't even begin to phase me now, but I recall it really creeping me out back then. I know this is pretty vague and wish I could give more details. Thanks guys.

I wanna say the kid wore glasses. And before he went upstairs to shoot the woman, he was in another room with another boy his age. I'm thinking mid 80's...
