He looks to be the man with the scars they're looking for. It's just curious that Cole didn't connect the dots back to talking to him mowing the lawn of the mothballed school in Ep.3 even though he had a patchy beard then. It was really patchy with large areas of skin seen through the beard parts.

While creepy, I didn't get any kind of "mastermind" vibe from him so we'll see how things shake out. How does the Lawnmower Man become the spaghetti monster and will we see the Yellow King?

Woody's character was still in the car, watching from the street, but Cole was standing about six feet from him asking about the school, previous employees, etc. He's not directly facing Cole but he's also not in profile. It could very well be that Cole simply doesn't see him in the way that so many kinds of people doing menial tasks might be "invisible".

They do get a little cheeky with the editing though because Woody's character honks the horn, to give the news about LaDeaux, and Mathew turns at the same moment that scars turns where we'd have gotten a good look at his right side. I watched it a couple times now in a row and you can just barely see something there but they cut.

It was bothering me so I had to find a stream and go back and keep backing it up to watch and see if there was any giveaway there that will lead to an M. Night Shamalamadingdong moment on Sunday. However it plays out I expect Cole to nearly spontaneously combust knowing he was standing right next to part of his obsession and never knew it. Maybe he's expecting something like that but he's so intellectually egotistic, it's got to burn when he finds out.

That was intense. I wish there would have been a little more of Cole's synesthesia. They've set the bar almost impossibly high for season two.

Great finale to an overall excellent series. Loved the vision shown and the words spoke by Rust at the very end. A solid 9/10 from me.
