I think it depends how the comedy would be done, and to what degree it would be a focus. If it's unintentional, situational black comedy I'm all for it, but if it's intentional to the point of making it a focus to the show rather than being a support then not so much. At that point IMO it would only serve to dull the edge of what currently is the best cutting edge drama around.

I really doubt the writer, (can't remember his name, Nic something) is gonna make this into Police Academy. There was comedy in the first season, like Woody's wtf reactions to MM's rambling. A good bit of comedic actors can do/have done drama and done it well. I didn't really care for MM before this show, but his character and acting was a revelation so the casting of Vaughn has got me real interested.

Let's not forget, Woody was mostly known for comedy as well. He's done serious work but he's more known for comedy. I think Vaughn has the potential to be a rather inspired choice. Or he'll suck ass. I don't think there will be any medium range here.

Comedy is harder than drama but we'll see if they stick to the dead serious tone of season one, which I hope they do.

Are we forgetting the remake of Psycho and Domestic Disturbance? I like Vince Vaughn, he has a schtick and he does it well.. I personally was not overly impressed by his attempts at serious/disturbing roles.

So far it's Colin Farrel. Vince Vaughn. Taylor Kitsch. Those are the leads. I guess it is supposed to be set in California so maybe it will work in some weird fashion.
