http://badassdigest.com/2013/09/10/p...r-2015-blinks/Yesterday we learned that Marvel was moving Edgar Wright's Ant Man from Fall 2015 into the massive hotdog eating contest that will be Summer 2015. With Avengers: Age of Ultron, a new Star Wars movie (supposedly), Pirates of the Caribbean 5, and Batmen Love Supermen all battling for our attention, it's hard to imagine there being any room left for a new tentpole.
Looks like there's not that much room after all. Deadline reports that Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Suffer No More Pirates of the Caribbean Films has been taken off 2015 duties in favor of a Summer 2016 opening. They don't even have a script yet, so that seems like a pretty smart move.
I'm personally a bit perplexed by the Ant Man shuffling, though. It'll come out July 31, which is maybe late enough in the Summer to create a minor buffer from those other films. Plus, if Avengers 2 sets it up well, audiences could be feeling a massive hunger for the next Marvel release as soon as possible. But still, I was looking forward to seeing it in the Fall where it would have more superhero breathing room.
As for Pirates, I doubt another year will fix the fact that no one's really begging for another entry, despite how much money the last one made. Maybe this time they sail to Heaven and learn that Jack Sparrow was an amnestic God all along.
Haven't seen any of the films besides the first two and that's because I was young and stupid. I do still enjoy the first one however. Will not be watching this either. Haven't seen a depp flick since Alice in Wonderland, but still sick of him.
