I'll still watch it just as I do with the WD, but I still don't have any illusions of actual substance with either of these shows anymore.

For the most part they seem to be grounded in a parallel writing universe where logic and proportion have been thrown completely through the looking glass.

I stopped watching this a few episodes into the second season, just couldn't get into it. If I am bored one day maybe I'll give it another shot and try to catch up

So Travis bites the dust and they go to a compound that reminds me of something from the novels but i cant remember what it was called or which novel it was from... i think the latest.
Also something they look like they are taking from the novels is the Governors origin story line with the two brothers, er, a version of it.

Solid first two episodes for season 3.
Whoever is doing the sound and music for the show is pretty amazing.

Travis dying was a bit of a surprise, but it was good to see a key character like that bite it and in an unexpected way. I'm glad the family met up again at the farm because I couldn't help but when they got split up again. It'll be interesting to see how things pan out, especially now that the remaining survivors have to pick up the slack with Travis gone. Also nice to see Strand still around, whom I'm sure will also eventually meet up with everyone else sometime this season.

Really solid first two episodes.

I'm gonna miss Erickson and his style.

Another really solid, well done death next to Chris and even Lisa really.

I don't think FTWD has had a really bad death yet. Erickson deserves a lot of credit.

Yea. I dig it. One of the first things that grabbed me about the new season. I think it's an often overlooked aspect of a show that more often than not affects the overall takeaway of a viewing experience - which can be a plus or a minus. A wildly inappropriate score, or a lack thereof, in the context of the subject material goes a long way in the shortchanging department, but 3 episodes in already and it's been pretty well done thus far. Found it to be very atmospheric and appropriate.

Few complaints up to this point really. The season as a whole has been fairly solid so far. Can it stay that way? One does hope.

Really solid episode. Who would've thought Broke Jaw ranch would feel more like a real community operation than almost all of the communities on the Walking Dead. Hell...they have crops, livestock, an underground surplus, a 'bible study', militia, etc.

The sad part is in typical fashion, at some point its all going to go up in smoke...or not...maybe not.

Really good character episode though. I felt they really aired out the dirty laundry from the Season 2 midseason finale and everyone feels fresh off that. Madison mentioning Nick being an addict makes me think he'll be addicted to something else, instead of drugs or walkers. Meanwhile maybe Alicia might find comfort in drugs in order to numb her from killing. Then you have Madison just trying to soak in the people of Broke Jaw ranch. Using a bit of those counselor skills to read people and we actually find a little bit of her past, with her father being a drunk.

The Otto family to me feels very organic. I mean yeah, for you Buffy fans. Jake almost reminds me of Riley, but maybe not. Troy is definitely all kinds of fucked up, but he's not just a black or white guy, neither is his father.

I enjoyed the Strand bit of the episode. The con turns on Strand for once and of course...Daniel returns and it looks like we'll see the aftermath of his escape.

Lots going on right now and Ofeila is still out there somewhere.

Solid ep, probably my fav. so far this season. Gotta admire the fact that AMC actually aired an entire ep with subs, which pissed off a lot of racists on social media apparently. I really liked the change of pace and we finally get some concrete answers about Daniel, who has been one of the best and most interesting characters on the series

No real complaints.

Two points off for the lightning walker, while not terrible, it was eh. The other being even though Erickson fixed the mess he created with the Season 2 midseason finale with last weeks episode and this one. It does seem rather silly after the fact. It did result in character development though, so it wasn't like what happened back then was total filler for all the characters. It wasn't.

Good to see Daniel back. Good to see him and Strand still won't be seeing eye to eye anytime soon.

Did miss the Clarkes a little bit though. They'll be back next week though. Probably a hangover from the constant bottle approach the main show takes.

Really good episode to see where the characters are.

Nick seems to be making himself at home at the ranch. Only for karma to bite him on the ass. The old couple was actually a really good idea for an opening scene. I loved that even Troy tried to save them. He's so fucking three dimensional to me, certainly no cartoon character. I loved his scenes with Madison, because even though you'd think they would try to save one another, at any moment it should go south. It sorta reminds me of Rick/Shane from Season 2 in a way, but a totally different dynamic. I can see why Luciana would leave and im not bothered by it.

Alicia feels like she's just surviving and with that said, you could die at any moment. So the drugs, the partying, the sex are all things she wants to do aside from surviving. I do think they've added a a slice of suicide to her character, because you don't just jump off a cliff like that with total assurance that the water is deep enough that you'll survive. Then again, the smile at the end sort of indicates she could've just wanted the rush too. Next week's sneak peak show's her and Jake with guns, so we'll see where that goes. I don't see her and Jake lasting forever. I think she used him for the sex, she wasn't interested in the poetry. That doesn't mean she hates the guy though.

Daniel and Strand definitely do not like one another. However that said, im actually going to take the two points off here for Daniel leaving him behind. Yes it was in character for Daniel to do that and yes Strand deserves it for lying. I can't help but feel like in that world, with not much in the way of allies, you gotta keep the people you know close, even if you don't like them. Rest assured, I think Strand may have done the same to him if the situation were reversed and Strand were looking for family.

Walker does seem like a three dimensional antagonist as well. I loved his line about feeding them all to the crows. Really badass and really threatening and its clear his beef isn't all about laughs and jokes.

The first half of this season is gonna be done in no time. Only two more weeks since 306 is by itself and 307/308 are a double episode midseason finale.
