    A question regarding genre.

Would you consider these two films as horror films or thrillers? I'm having a tough time trying to classify them.

    Faust (1926)

    Peeping Tom (1960)

    According to imdb

    Faust - Drama | Fantasy | Horror

Peeping Tom - Horror | Thriller

But it's whatever you want it to be! There are some flicks that cross the line of thriller/horror. Se7en is a good example.

I think it's listed in alphabetical order on IMDB.

A film's genre is whatever you infer it to be.

Genre is sometimes too subjective to classify and you're always going to get people who disagree with you.

I knew someone once who would classify films generally regarded as 'war' as 'horror' due to the fact that they depicted horrific events. Each to their own etc.

Just showing you what they are classified to the majority of people, not the order they are listed in.

I always see them under "horror"

Thriller is just a genre with bigger budgets and normally better known actors,

I think i'd give Faust (1926) the horror nod.
I see Peeping Tom (1960) more as a thriller now.
