    Pet Sematary Remake

    http://www.upcominghorrormovies.com/movie/pet-sematary

Variety reports that Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is close to landing the gig at the helm of the new PET SEMATARY for Paramount (which was also behind Mary Lambert’s 1989 original film, pictured above, and its 1992 sequel) and producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Steven Schneider. The new script was written by Matt Greenberg, whose credits include the King flick 1408 and HALLOWEEN: H20, and THE INVASION’s David Kajganich. Fresnadillo first won notice for his Spanish thriller INTACTO, and went on to direct 28 WEEKS LATER and INTRUDERS.
    I really like Fresnadillo!

A remake has been in talks since the start of the new century, surprised its taken so long considering how many other shitty remakes that have been greenlit and materialized since

    Just throwing it out there......

Pet Sematary 2 wasn't AS bad as I thought. Would like to see a remake to that as well

I think a remake would be good because I hear the story is a lot darker and far more disturbing thhan the film and the sequel was good fun. It would be cool to see both of them remade.

A re-make seem inevitable all though unnecessary. The book is very dark and the first film handled it very well IMO.

    It is.

Caught PS in the theater and thought it was kind of fun for what it offered, but yea it still pales when compared to the book... as do most of the movie adaptations of Kings writing.

carrie was successful enough. I think we'll see a lot of king stuff redone. And no way that shining sequel isn't happening. I think a Christine remake could be fun. Not that I have a problem with the original. I just miss that whole killer car thing.

I think if Doctor Sleep is made into a film The Shining should be remade because it would in no way make sense going along with Kubrick's Shining and a lot of fans who haven't read the books would be confused.

Also, whats going on with the It remake?

IT cannot be filmed and come remotely close to the experience the book provides. Just leave "IT" be.
Some books should be left alone because to commit them to film is nearly impossible to duplicate. IT is a perfect example.

I think if they do a remake to The Shining to set up Doctor Sleep it would be cool to see someone like Darren Aronofsky direct it.
