Me as well. The first was a very entertaining, well made flick.

I don't get these films, because I assumed the original happened after millions of years from the present.. that gave apes enough time to evolve while the remaining humans reverted back to tribalism. Now it's saying the apes were created in a lab and then went to war with humanity or something.. when instead the whole theme of the original is that humankind destroyed itself.

I'm a big fan of Rise, didn't expect much but ended up loving it. I'll certainly give this one a shot.

I won't gloss over the concerns as some may. I have the same issue with it, but at the same time I'm not averse to remakes of the original series, or any series for that matter. I suppose that maybe these are retellings and not remakes per say
Of course liberties are often taken in the shaping of the remake - I get that. Sometimes I think it's necessary due to a particular variable of the story being so outdated that other parts of the story simply or easily cannot get past that, and/or still make the story coherant or relevant... I don't feel that Rise or Dawn fits into that mold.
Let em make whatever they want to make, but when it's completely unnecessary to change original key, defining, core elements in the getting to Point B from Point A - then they shouldn't bogart the POTA brand. Name it something else.
Thought Rise was alright, and what i'm seeing Dawn is looking sweet.
