I'm not a comic book guy at all, but I do find the Marvel movies extremely interesting. I respect the films because I have never seen a series of films so connected, yet so different from one another. Every single Marvel flick, since 2008's The Hulk, has been connected with a build up to "The Avengers" (2012). I wasn't completely thrilled with that film (besides the amazing climax/final battle), but boy was that a great way to do a super hero film. I have never seen films do that before and now it's happening again, but with a different film "Guardians of the Galaxy". You may be asking yourself, "What the hell is Guardians of the Galaxy?" Well..the plot goes..
The after credits scene in Thor 2, which these Marvel films are famous for (and are the factors of how each film is connected), has Benecio Del Toro in it. Seriously, he's in a 2-3 minute long clip. I was wondering why the hell they put such a famous actor in such a short clip, but I read that Thor 2 is now connecting to Guardians of the Galaxy which Benecio Del Toro is in as well.. So, not only was/is The Avengers/The Avengers 2 had this huge cluster of films being connected, but now they are connecting to the start of another (hopefully) film franchise. That just completely blows my mind.In the far reaches of space, an American pilot named Peter Quill finds himself the object of a manhunt after stealing an orb coveted by the villainous Ronan. Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a group of futuristic ex-cons including Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Drax the Destroyer and Groot. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand — with the galaxy’s fate in the balance
The movies may not be the best films ever, but what they are doing is pretty great. Comic book fan or not.
