Late to the party as usual, but recently binged this season and damn was it good. Like a mini-Breaking Bad condensed all into one 10-episode season. Really great job by the cast, especially enjoyed Martin Freeman and of course Billy Bob.

Couldn't believe it when Key & Peele entered the picture as well, it was perfect.

Gonna preface this by saying that I debated for awhile on watching this because i'm one of the silent minority who doesn't appreciate the bulk of the movie itself. All of that endless "yah" "yah" was enough to make me want to chew glass for starters.

Anyway... I was really surprised with the pilot for the series, and was hooked after that. Only 3 eps. in atm and i'm completely digging it.

OK....now I'm gonna dedicate my snow day tomorrow, with a sprained ankle, to watching as many eps as I can...haven't seen 1 yet and you guys are making me feel bad for not watching this as do a lot of people I know who also watch

The only negative I've ever heard came from my brother who didn't like that Freeman was (at least initially) doing an impression of William H. Macy from the film. I get (think I do) why they cast someone superficially similar in looks, and how that plus just doing that accent and being meek and all that would just automatically make the reference so on-the-nose, and why, perhaps, they chose to create characters similar but different from the film. You can interpret it several different ways, some more positively than others. He chose to see it as sort of lazy, creatively, but after a few episodes in I kinda liked how my expectations were mostly changed. I don't think he gave it long enough.

I might have liked it more from the beginning if I hadn't read an interview with Freeman where he comes off like a complete douche. But I did eventually really like the show, in spite of now having bias against Freeman and feeling like Hanks should have quit acting altogether after Dexter. Even though he played a mostly unlikable character here he did fine.

Absolutely loved the first season. I cheered for Gus when he was the one who took down Malvo in the cabin. Just a damn near perfect scene. Anyways, I'm sure all of you are aware the new season debuts in September and after seeing some actual footage, it looks good!
