    V/H/S Viral

V/H/S: VIRAL's segments include the story of a deranged illusionist who obtains a magical object of great power, a homemade machine that opens a door to a parallel world, teenage skaters that unwillingly become targets of a Mexican death cult ritual, and a sinister, shadowy organization that is tracking a serial killer. The segments are tied together by the story of a group of fame-obsessed teens following a violent car chase in LA that unwittingly become stars of the next internet sensation.

Talent-wise from a director point of view this has taken a pretty big step back from VHS 2. Director of The Apparition...really?

Neither of the first two installments of this Anthology series were strong from top to bottom. In my opinion Safe Haven was the best segment so far and even that one was almost wrecked for me when they showed the shitty demons face. Needless to say ive had low expectations with these to begin with, that being said ill be heading into this one with even lower expectations. Maybe ill be pleasantly surprised by this, but i doubt it

If Adam Wingard is not involved in this, then it will probably be sub-par to the superb VHS 2. Garth Evans' segment is probably one of my favorite short films. It's worth to purchase with just that segment, and the zombie segment (that is amazingly well done), alone. This looks pretty decent, but I don't know how they are going to do it without Wingard. Those guys are horror's next big thing imo. But this is one trailer, I'm sure there will be more.

And I did see a few seconds of practical effects so

Agreed, I really enjoyed the first, though Evan's segment was so good that it elevated the entire VHS2 from a decent sequel to an awesome film. I'm looking forward to the 3rd.

Will definitely check this out, I had the same initial reaction about the directors but I do think Nacho Vigalondo is an interesting pick. As for the rest, perhaps they will prove more competent doing shorts rather than a full length feature. VHS was good, VHS2 was better, hope they can keep up the standard they have set with this one!

I loved VHS 2 and the improvements it made over the first accentuated it even more. I will definitely watch this but going from the list of directors VHS 2 had to this doesn't have my expectations all that high.

Didn't really like the first too much, but thought the sequel was an improvement. This third looks alright; I'll save my judgements for when I actually see it.

V/H/S/2 was so good, I have a hard time seeing viral matching that let alone surpassing it. But I still want to see it of course.

I have to ask...has anyone tried to watch The Apparition? It was on Starz one night when I was flipping through the channels. I gave it a go and did watch the entire movie. What fucking garbage! This movie actually got a theatrical release as well. The only redeeming factor is the chick in it is smokin' hot and she does gardening wearing a bikini top

Agree 100%. I watched it a few times, and her skin was the only redeeming thing in that film. I was scared when the Quiet Ones came out since it seemed like basically the same premise.

Super stoked for this one, V/H/S 1 was what REALLY got me into my now favorite movie genre (Found Footage), which lead me to Grave Encounters and other such movies, V/H/S 2 blew me out of the water, and V/H/S:Viral is hopefully going to be amazing. Might be a biast opinion though as V/H/S 1 and 2 are my favorite movies of all time. :p
