THR reports that a darker more gritty Judge Dredd is heading back to the big screen. Budgeted at $45-million, the script has been described "as a high-octane slay ride through the dark underbelly of a vast futuristic city."
Filming is scheduled to take place this year in Johannesburg, directed by Pete Travis (Vantage Point, Endgame) from a script penned by Alex Garland (28 Days Later, Sunshine).
I haven't seen the first film in years, but I remember liking it as a kid. Though, looking back on it now it had many faults and way too many cheesy qualities to it. I'm looking forward to a more gritty, violent, and darker version
