Favorite Films in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Series

My vote goes to TCM 2. It's the most entertaining IMO. Chop Top rocks in this.
I vote for this one as well probably because its the first one I saw. I generally like all the films except for Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III and The Next Generation, with Next Generation being the worst IMHO.

I've liked them all to some extent except for the last modern one, TCM 3D. It was pretty terrible.

The original is king, one of the greatest horror movies of all time. I got a poster of it on my wall. 40th anniversary Blu-Ray this fall.

Original for sure. I also have a guilty pleasure for the third, especially with that badass golden chainsaw. The remake wasn't bad either.

I love the second one as well. It's by far the most fun. The original is good but slightly over rated. I enjoy the rest pretty much the same though I haven't watched the last one that came out. Oh and the 4th is terrible.

Remake, original, 2nd for me. One of the rare occasions a remake (The Hills Have Eyes, best horror remake IMO) is better than the original which I think is good but a bit overrated.

It's slick looking, shot like a beer commercial so when it's not night it's pretty much perpetual late afternoon, which makes it really nice to look at. And following around a sweaty Jennifer Biel doesn't suck. But otherwise it's totally by-the-numbers and without an ounce of inspiration.

What makes me hate it is that the filmmakers completely reduced Leatherface to a two-dimensional monster. A mask and the chainsaw. He became the cliche. Gone was the humor from the original and the extra disturbing aspect of cross-dressing and the idea he's actually wearing a lady mask.

That pretty much describes him for every incarnation of every film in the series but the original. I like in the remake how he is a focal point but not THE focal point. The remake goes on to show how much more depraved the rest of the family is. And yes, Jessica Biel doesn't hurt much at all

I rate 1 and 2 about the same. With 3 and 4 coming next. I hated the remakes. I like the 3D one better than both remakes.

I liked R. Lee Ermey in the remakes and yes Jessica Biel was nice
