Anybody pick up on the antagonist Immortan Joe? He was Toecutter from Mad Max.

This was an absolutely awesome, badass, fantastical, visually stunning non-stop entertainment-fest from start to finish! Loved all the characters and Furiosa was even more of a badass than Max! A solid 9/10 from me!

yea definitely an over the top nitro action fest from start to finish. post apocalyptia on display in it's finest, and showcased nicely by the guy who is a master of such. Another great entry in the Max universe which continues to solidify the Max saga as the reigning champion of the greatest action chase scenes of all time.

I actually hated Beyond Thunderdome which kinda killed it for me with Mad Max. Perhaps with the rave reviews you guys are giving it maybe I'll give Max a second chance

Like, so many people out there were trying to track this down. And it just...got delivered on a tweet. What the hell.

I was kind of worried the film would take a while to make its budget back, but luckily it did really good worldwide, bringing in $65-million. Now it's at almost $125-mil total from it's $150-mil budget. Shouldn't be long now.

A sequel is already in development as well called Mad Max: The Wasteland. Reportedly Tom Hardy is signed on to do two more films and George Miller already has ideas for the next film. Apparently since Fury Road was delayed so much that more ideas sprung from it

Found an interesting review on Fury Road today that literally spells out exactly what I took from my theater experience of this excellent post-apoc flick, and it's ultimate ranking in the Miller universe. He goes into listing his reasons of why he believes Fury Road - even being as good as it is, and does give a lot of praise where it is due - ultimately falls short of The Road Warrior.

While I may have a high pain threshold when it comes to post apocalyptia in general - and what i'll tolerate for the sake of the watch - I'm also twice as critical about it as well, so I don't mind sharing his article because I agree with every point he made. My own personal high bar of post apocalyptia wouldn't have it any other way.

As much as I did like this newest entry, I have to agree with the writer's points as to why The Road Warrior remains the apex of the Wasteland. Kind of something I touched on in chat the other night after seeing the flick. As much as I loved this theater experience, i've found that I can't disagreee with his conclusions/opinions. Either way Fury Road is entertaining as hell, highly recommendable, and to be seen on the big screen if possible.

Only listing the 5 major points here. He gives a paragraph or two explanation for each one in the link.

The article is from Forbes and titled
'Mad Max' Review: 5 Reasons Why 'Road Warrior' Is Better Than 'Fury Road'

    1. Road Warrior is a more intimate film.
    2. CGI makes ‘Fury Road’ feel less real.
    3. Mel Gibson is still the best Max.
    4. ‘Fury Road’s’ ending is too neat and tidy.
    5. Ultimately, ‘Fury Road’ is too derivative.

Appparently they had posters at my theater too, but I didn't see'em. Gonna be going back to the theaters on Sunday to finally see Avengers, so hopefully they still got posters then

I agree that Gibson is the better Max. Good points overall, but I think it's a bit over analytical. In the end it's still just a matter of opinion. I personally like Fury Road the best, because it feels like the film that Miller wanted to make the whole time, he just didn't have the budget until now

Anyone else get the music box easter egg? Not sure if it's a pure easter egg but it was subtle, especially if you haven't seen the original in a while.
The tiny little music box he had. In the original Max gives it to a little kid. So there is a possibility that this Mad Max could be the kid from the original whom got the music box.

Just watched a camrip of this.

Bit of a meh.. I didn't care at all about Charlize Theron's character. Boring actress. Tom Hardy was the same.

Action scenes were ok, but I don't get what the fuss is all about. I was mainly bored.

Most overrated film of the year.

TBH I'd rather watch Beyond Thunderdome than watch this again, even though it was shitty camrip quality. Doesn't hold a candle to the first two.
