The question was asked about how graphic the content could be on Starz. The answer provided by fright was Spartacus which is UBER violent and also graciously displays copious amounts of full frontal male nudity...even the frank (and maybe part of the beans) being severed more than a few times (also orgies of all kinds going on in the stands during gladiator matches). So the answer in a round-about way is simply don't worry about Evil Dead not being graphic.

If the show does well enough, I would hope perhaps this could be the start of a new trend in getting old horror icons back for miniseries to wrap up their own franchises. JMO.
The first that comes to mind is getting Englund back as Freddy for his own miniseries on a premium network. I realize he already had a show, but something more relevant and perhaps only done by Wes Craven would be nice. A nice little 6-10 episode franchise ender.

The problem with that is Wes Craven actually gives a shit about Freddy Krueger and im quite sure if given the chance to develop a TV show with Englund again, he would make sure Freddy Krueger is taken care of.
Sean Cunningham on the other hand, despises Jason Voorhees despite the fact that he's made a fortune off Jason Voorhees over the decades. He only really gives a shit about Pamela Voorhees and his film, not the character that made him a fortune. He despises the hockey mask, he wanted Jason to be a demon shapeshifter so he could remove the mask (JGTH).
I have far more confidence in Craven developing a TV series for premium cable with Freddy/Englund than I do Cunningham with Jason. Maybe if Steve Miner were involved as the top guy, then I could believe in it. Afterall, some view Friday's 2 and 3 as one film, better than the original.

I know it happens all the time, but Englund has stated that he will never put on the Freddy makeup again. He came to Flashback Weekend this year in Chicago and it was a big deal that someone did the makeup for him. It was being advertised that it would be the final time. Englund is not too money hungry either, so I think a tv show starring him is out of the question. Just my opinion though.

I think there should be one last Halloween more akin to the original. The series just can't end with Rob Zombie's sequel.
