Well have you asked the majority of film fans and/or horror fans? Did you do a survey or something? Please, post us the results.

Halloween '78, 2, 4, 5, 6, H20 = Slasher flicks.
Halloween Resurrection = It doesn't exist.
Halloween '07 = Irrelevant piece of shit flick. So shitty I can't simply forget it like Resurrection.
Halloween 2 '09 = Horribly made, ghost horse comedy. I want to forget it, but come on it has a ghost horse and Shri's shitty acting. Who can forget that!?

Read the first line.
This debate is a waste. It's like asking is water wet? Let's go back to the topic...."It Follows"
"Wake up sucker, we're thieves and we're bad guys. That's exactly what we are."

LOL...agreed...but debating about Halloween being a slasher flick or not is going to chase away potential new members. If I was visiting here for the first time and saw a debate like this going on I'd be like "fuck this place" and move on.

Alright orlok, that's enough. Like others have said if you want to continue the discussion then you may make your own thread in Horror Topics or General. You've been warned, any further discussion here will result in repeated infractions.

Anyway, uh, I actually liked It Follows. Wasn't the most innovative and it did have some pacing issues, but I thought it was decent enough. I loved the soundtrack and the fact that it was different. I hated the conflict resolution though.
Spoiler...It was so easy to kill these things
And I actually dug the ending

But that pool scene was right out of an 80s horror movie. Its some random dumb shit we would see kids in an 80s movie come up with, "ok rob, you throw the blanket on the ghost, kim you throw the bucket of water on him, ill strap these jumper cables to his nipples..... thats how we kill it!". Think about the nonsense ways weve seen ppl try to kill Jason or Freddy or Chucky. This is right in line.

I think it was more or less young kids who had no clue what to do, and were resorting to anything.
