Black Mirror (Netflix)

Recently came across this gem on Netflix, and promptly binged the hell out of it.

Black Mirror is a British television anthology series created by Charlie Brooker that shows the dark side of life and technology. -wikipedia

I can't recommend this enough, especially if you enjoy shows like The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits. There are currently two seasons, each three episodes, ranging from 50-60 minutes in length. Then there was a 70 minute Christmas special that just aired, starring Jon Hamm. Unlike in the regular seasons, where each story is completely unrelated, the Christmas special interweaves three tales into one complete story.

The third series is in development and hopefully will be out this year, if they keep with the current theme of releasing a season every other year.

Anyone else check it out yet?

Oh, and some of the music was really quite good as well. They have the scores on Amazon.

You check out the one-off "White Christmas" yet? It was really good as well, not quite up to the level of the series but good enough.

Just watched the first episode the other day and LOL.. it was pretty fucking righteous.. It definitely starts you off with not knowing what the hell to expect in future episodes after watching THAT... LOL

Yeah, I felt the same way, jaw was on the floor for most of the episode. They definitely mix it up for the subsequent episodes though.

Season 3 was pretty good.... its a hit or miss show for me.
Even as more of a sci-fi fan (than anything else) who will generally like any sci-fi that is well done, the misses really dont do anything for me.
For season 3, episodes 2, 3, 5 and 6 are the one's i enjoyed. 1 and 4 didnt do much for me. As a whole i actually think i enjoyed it more than seasons 1 and 2 though.
They should definitely continue the series for a while though, its about time we had a semi-Twilight Zone style anthology show.

Agreed. Finished the winter special ep. Great series. Now on to season 3

Personally i'd probably take it a step further and compare Black Mirror to the 90's Outer Limits series - if for no other reason than the current, relevant, modern technology angles they both share as a focal point in story distribution. A small matter really, seeing how for all intents and purposes TZ and OL are for the most part not that far removed.

Finished all 4 seasons. Black Mirror is definitely a mixed bag. There were only a few episodes that I didn't really care for, but IMO the majority of them are above average as far as Twilight Zone/Outer Limits-esque anthology shows go... and as i'm thinking back on it i'd have to say a few of them were quite brilliant. Recommended.

I just completed Season 1 and I'm hooked. I've always liked shows like The Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, etc... so thoroughly enjoying this.

Holy fuck this show

Finished the second season today and started the third. There haven't been any bad episodes yet, but the ones I didn't 100% care for were "The National Anthem" from season 1 and "White Bear" from Season 2. They weren't terrible, but my least favorite. The acting and general story telling are superb.

Favorites are: "Fifteen Million Merits" and "The Entire History of You" from season 1, "White Christmas" from season 2 (my favorite episode so far) and "Nosedive" from Season 3 so far.

Current with this latest season. Getting another batch of BM makes me realize just how much i've missed this series.
