Gameplay. Beta out soon.

Looks really fun to me and intense. Some interesting 80s horror cliches as mechanics. There are some things to nitpick, but since this only displays counselor side gameplay, I won't judge too much until I see Jason gameplay. Also the Jason's will differ in strength, depending on entry. Part 3 Jason was very humanish, ran, etc. Every Jason will probably have different strengths and weaknesses.

I believe that the beta is available but only for PC users caught a little bit of game play via youtube look's fun can't wait until next year though to get the full game on console too!.

I got a chance to play the beta. I'm really excited to see where the game goes. I'm craving to play it more now and its all I played while it was out. That said, of course it has its problems, but the Dev's have acknowledged this and I have confidence in them being an indie company to do the best they can and considering they made out quite ahead with the pre order betas. They have a lot more money to play with.

Jason is a bit OP in the right hands, but woefully beatable in the hands of weaker players and one particular counselor basically breaks the need to play as any other counselor. So in the final days of the beta, it became about outlasting/running around Jason for 20 minutes or making mad dashes to call the cops and get a rescue inside 5 minutes. It was basically the go to method to win besides outlasting Jason for 20 minutes. Getting the 3 necessary components to get the 2 or 4 seater cars working was not all that feasible if the Jason player was any good. He'd just wipe out the counselors before they get a car working.

With the police, its find the power box, repair it and call them, then camp/run around for 5 minutes until they show up. Or outlast Jason for 20 minutes. But with maps for Part 1 and 2 along with Part 3 seen in Beta. There will be different methods of escape, plus we still have Part 6, Part 8 and Part 9 Jason to go with launch. DLC will probably bring in Tina is an alternative Hero character alongside Tommy and probably Part 4 Jason and Roy/JX.

As ambitious and with all the care they are putting into it for a great F13th experience this game is still at the mercy of the community that plays it.

Does it look promising, sure. But to ignore the fact that you will most likely be playing with a bunch of randoms and that most of the gaming community doesn't even wear
headsets and communicate makes this game practically useless. If it gets off to a rocky start and gamers bail there won't even be a community to play with.

This is a wait and buy scenario at best IMO.

I rarely play online and rarely use head phones....you'd think common sense would kick in for most people here and they would in fact use head phones while playing THIS game...but then again...common sense and society today...

A majority of games that rely heavily on MP are plagued by this issue. Games like COD, Battlefield, etc...more of your run n gun MP games don't typically need communication. Chat-wise
those games are ghost towns. Even though in all my experiences teamwork is there it is the type of game where communication is not needed for it to be successful.

However I did play a lot of Evolve which is very similar to what is being done here. Now that was an issue. A big issue. It led to matches that were horribly one sided and also a huge percentage of matches having players drop out mid-round because there was no communication and the game was not what it should have been. That community died a quick death, although the game was quite fun with some great mechanics and leveling up system.

But since nobody played it as it should be played I couldn't bring myself to keep at it knowing players would drop out of the game, no communication, and it became frustrating because of it.

The novelty might wear off, but with hackers trying to hack Gun Media to get the beta servers back online, combined with outdoing expectations on pre order betas and the amount of keys that went out. I think the game will have heavy interest right out of the gate. Course, im not gonna sit here and say its gonna be GOTY 2017, because I have some legit concerns. That said, if the Devs continue to listen and pay homage to the series. I think it can be sneaky good, at the very least, better than the NES game by miles and miles. It could be one of the good game to film adaptations. It likely won't be Goldeneye level perfect, but attention to detail, singleplayer and the promise of other things have me intrigued. Plus Indie company, this isn't Valve or EA or Ubisoft.

I see this game being fun for a few days. At first I was excited, but the more and more I look into it, it seems like another Evolve. I hope it has the replay-ability as Left for Dead, but I don't see myself playing it without some friends around. I will definitely pick it up because Friday the 13th and it being an indie dev.

New Savini Jason reveal.

He looks like what I would imagine Jason should've looked like after Freddy brought him out of hell to start Freddy vs. Jason. Not with a damn coat. He would look like he does here. On fire, burnt, still having a lot of the wear and tear of earlier films.
