So, what's all this talk about not having a blob, lol? I kinda figured that all the action in this movie would take place in trailer park somewhere in a run-down par tof a Southern town. By action I mean 10 minutes of the blob eating things, and 80 minutes of Sherri Moon Zombie riding everyone and everything in the trailer park.

The reason he's making these obnoxious films is the money, H2 scored $32M from the box office, and the DVD hasn't been released yet. So, apparently Rob's new profession is going through his classic horror DVD collection and remaking things to his liking. I liked his remake of Halloween for one reason, it gave more of a back story to Michael Myers. Other than that it really just didn't need to happen. H2 gave us nothing more than 2 hours of H1. So, for this, I see no reason to remake the original blob, or the 1988 remake making this a remake of a remake. Rob... write something new man....

Rob Zombie's idea of a scary movie is a shaky camera and hillbilly teeth, set to his wife's ass and some horrible music. Yeah, zombie released maybe two good albums and house of 1000 corpses and devil's rejects, but shit, enough is enough.
H2 was actually tedious to watch. Was anyone else pissed at the 20 minute "dream" scene? Or that the halloween theme music was played only once, and only at the end credits? Or the fact the michael was able to teleport halfway across haddonfield from the ridiculous halloween barn party going on to kill laurie's friend at the sheriff's house (how did he know?), in like 8 seconds? Or that Loomis was a totally reduntant douche character in this movie? What the fuck does a white horse have to do with ANYTHING?
What a fuckin hack director. I love how this movie is getting decent reviews all over the net, and that many people refer to his films as "visionary".

The '88 The Blob was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I watched it a ridiculous amount of times.
It really is an excellent remake, and just an excellent film in general.
Rob Zombie will not be able to make a good remake of this. Doesn't help that he's casting his obnoxious wife, again. He's an idiot.

He enjoys making mid-budget movies that recall his love for drive-in and exploitation films of the 60's and 70's, which The Blob kind of is. That said, he's made four films thus far and only one really flourished with his southern-fried schlock approach to story/acting/cinematography (Devil's Rejects). The Blob wouldn't be bettered with his style, so unless he grows as a director it's better it stay on the hiatus it currently seems to be on.

The Blob is gonna eat up some white trash, then get frozen, the end.
That's all Rob zombie films consist of.
