debate time which do you prefer? Tim Burton's Batman or Nolan's Batman?

I give the edge to Tim Burton honestly, I love the first two Chris Nolan Batman films but at the same time it seems like he was at times kinda embarrassed he was making comic books. After Batman Begins it felt less and less like a comic book film and less like a Batman movie. He did some things right, including more of Bruce Wayne's personal life and his business and everything. But the action scenes especially the Batman hand to hand stuff was always weak, not enough cool gadgets either. But what do you get with Tim Burton? a great musical score, some awesome gadgets, some really cool fight sequences dark gothic atmosphere, a great looking Gotham City and great visuals.

For the first 2 Nolan ones I'd give the edge to those, but in regards to the TDKR I think both of Burtons beat it. Although as a comic fan I don't think either film makers really got the character of Batman right, both had fantastic performances for The Joker, with Heath beating Jack in his portrayal.

If you're talking Batman and Batman Returns vs Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, then it's no question...Nolan wins. However if you include The Dark Knight Rises, then it is arguable. But if you include any of the sequels to Batman Returns...then well Nolan blows it out of the water TDKR included.

Burton really wanted to make a Batman movie, and he did and it was awesome. Then the studio wanted him to make another and he didn't want to...but they offered him a shitload of money so he said he would and instead of a Batman followup he made a love letter to German Expressionism (something he did VERY well). What we got was a character piece featuring Danny Devito in a tragic character role that is twisted and forced into something he does not truly want and is left with a tragic end. Great story, great movie, not such a good Batman-movie.

Burton nailed the quirky comic book aesthetic. Nolan nailed the gritty, grounded aspect therefore ill say its a draw

Tim Burton's Batman represents the 1930s/1940s comics era of Batman pretty well. Nolan's is based more in the modern stuff.

Schumacher is pretty much Batman from the 1950s-1970s. Campy, but without the camp we would never have the Adam West show.

Affleck appears to be based on Frank Miller's Batman which I have no problem with.

    Keatonman shits down BatBale's throat.

Regarding Affleck's Batman, I must admit he's grown on me quite a bit. At first I was angry like a spoiled brat who didn't get what he wanted for Christmas but as time went on and the first trailers hit the web I became hyped as fuuuuck. I think he's gonna the first Batman that's better than Keatonman.

Burton made a Batman movie.. Nolan made a realistic batman movie... Gotham looks like Buttons vision, not Chicago

But realism is the trend these days.

Btw, Adam West owns them all IMO.

the show is great! I still watch them when they are on. I liked Burton's better. Nolan's are great don't get me wrong but Keaton as Batman is AWESOME! I like Burton's warped mind.
