The sad reality is RZH1 was actually a much needed return to basics for the series, only with the redneck flavoring. I'd probably put RZH1 over H8 because no Busta, Danielle Harris tits and because I didn't mind the backstory, as predictably stupid as it was. Basically its the backstory of RZH1 vs Busta, and the backstory for RZH1 wins out for me, plus Danielle Harris being a trooper.
I would love it if Carpenter forced another completely new entry in the series, but I doubt the studio will want to take any chances.
Or even try to connect H3 into the mythos of the Myers entries. I know im reaching on that one.

I actually kind of like Zombie's Halloween, didn't care for the sequel though, just seemed like he lost his mind with that one

Halloween: Resurrection is actually pretty entertaining if you're in the frame of mind.

Some strange news here about the film, it seems like David Gordon Green and Danny Macbride will be writing the screenplay for the new Halloween film with David rirecting. Seems like an odd pairing for horror film eince both of them have mostly done comedy but having two people who don't usually do horror could bring something interesting to it. http://variety.com/2017/film/news/da...ax-1201983506/

Heard about that on Horror Night Oasis (a horror radio show I listen to) last night, and indeed, those are interesting choices for a horror film.

The guys are talented and an old series like this could use some fresh eyes that'll hopefully deliver something we haven't quite seen before with the MM character

Its interesting this is still happening, considering the latest reports indicate Paramount axed the F13 origin movie. Just seems like a down time for the slasher sub genre.

The new film won't be a remake but a sequel to the first two films. Halloween 20 years later was already a decent sequel to the firs two films, oh well I can't wait to see what is done with it regardless

Seriously, why reboot shit? Let's get real here. I'm not keen on remakes or reboots at all. There is never really any reboot that is good. Name one.

Actually there are a number of remakes that were good:
The Maltese Falcon starring Humphery Bogart was a remake of Satan Met a Lady
hen you have a couple more on personal preference, and I have heard an equal number going either way:
Dawn of the Dead
The Blob
The Crazies
Carpenter's The Thing
Just to name a few that depending on who you ask will tell you they are good remakes. Granted a majority are shit compared to the original, but there are a lot out there that are rather good or I some cases better than the original.
Like, so many people out there were trying to track this down. And it just...got delivered on a tweet. What the hell.

Exactly.
I did like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remkae, although no follow-up to the original film calling itself a sequel was even a true sequel anyway. It hardly mattered.

So what about Leatherface? I am not sure I care much for any more Leatherface, Michael Myers or Chucky films anyway. They cannot die that easily, and they keep coming back. We so get it by now. How many more ways can they shove it down our throats?

I will always watch a new Leatherface, Chucky, Jason, Leprechaun, Freddy or Michael Myers film.
Except for the last leprechaun movie, which wasn't really a leprechaun movie at all.
