As you all may know, this movie was released in the 90's, my era during the big teen boom, and it was a movie with a very rare premise and another new and fresh idea that kinda stood out from everything else out there: instead of having killer chase you with a knife or hook, and chase you around in a ghost mask or raincoat, we have a djinn.
Even though this was something kinda creative and new at that time, not the same old same old, it never lived up to it's premise or fully executed the idea behind it. The acting is alright and the movie is overly cheesy, and stupid at times. The only thing the movie really has to offer is the death scenes, which were cool and gory. We also get cameo appearances from Robert England, and Tony Todd.
So all in all, we get the same thing to come out of a slasher film, but instead of a killer wearing a silly mask, we have a djinn. I liked it better when I was a kid, but now...5/10 just because of the cool death scenes. Nothing else.
Did you guys like this or remember it?
