    Thumbs up Hometown Urban Legends

Just curious if any members from here have any urban legends in their hometown? I have a few from where I lived in Wisconsin, especially one in particular. There was a murder-suicide tragedy back in the 1980's where a husband decapitated his wife from behind, dragged her lifeless body a quarter of a mile away from the house and buried her in a silo.

The husband went back to the house and hung himself in the basement. Decades later, the legend states he haunts the house while his wife haunts the silo. I've been to the property quite a few times when I lived out there and I will say I have seen some interesting stuff. Enough to make me believe in the other side of the road.

    What about you?

Only one I can think of off the top of my head revolves around a bus full of kids getting hit by a train, killing everyone. So now if you supposedly go to the train tracks where it happened and park your car right over it your car will be mysteriously pushed off the tracks to avoid danger.

where my dad used to live in Connecticut the park nearby had a legend that was like haunted by the dog, and if you saw it

    once-nothing
    twice-good luck
    three-you would die

also live near rockadundy(spelling) road. supposedly haunted because of a mass suicide.

Not sure if this is the same spot but they had this as a small 5 minute side-quest on Ghost Adventures and they debunked it.

People would say that if you put flour on the back of your car after it was moved you would see hand prints.

It was debunked that the road was an illusion and the car was really going down a gradual decline in the road looks like an incline. As for the flour it adhered to the hand prints already on the back of someones car. They did two cars, one buffed and cleaned with Windex and the other untouched. The hand prints in the flour only appeared on the car that wasn't cleaned off beforehand. Also the hand prints matched the owner of the car they used.

First one to come to mind is the 3 clowns in the van...every kid got told this, apparently there's 3 clowns riding about in a van and if they are seen by a child, they kidnap the kid and give them a Glasgow Smile...cuts at the side of the mouth, then stabbed until the kid screams causing the cuts to spread up to their ears in a freaky deranged looking smile.

Nice, friendly story for Glasgow children

There's a building on the military base nearby. Supposedly when they were building it someone died and was walled up. Later it was used during the bio-weapon manufacturing days to well, make biological weapons. In the 50s someone broke a fermentor that had 2,000 gallons of anthrax so the entire building had to be walled off. and if you ever went in.......

We have a park near us where some kid was killed by a drunk driver. Apparently, he is haunting the park. There have been reports of a boys voice and the swings swinging as if someone was on them.

Vergas trails,it's a place close to me known for all kinds of paranormal activity.
Haunted highway did a segment on the Vergas hairy man,but the legends don't stop there, the old cemetery in the trails is suppose to be haunted as well. Reports of devil dogs attacking vehicles on the trails,an Indian women with her baby walking and my favorite a group of black hooded individuals walking the trails.

Elk River,Mn is one of the world leading UFO hot spots,I guess .
