This "legend" of horror movie history is releasing on it's own for a mere $10 on September 15th.

Nope, it wasn't that I know of.

I just checked the details of the set and it says this:

Plus, the NEVER BEFORE RELEASED Producer’s Cut of Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers!

So I guess it did come with it. I never picked the set up, so I wasn't sure

This is the only reason I would buy that set and simply just throw the RZ movies in the garbage after lighting them on fire. Now we can just buy this one for $10!

It is not like (Halloween 6) The Curse of Michael Myers was a masterpiece, the franchise can't just combine the two together in a double disc for us fans? I mean it is twenty years after the fact anyway. The Halloween company likes to sapp every last buck from their fans.

Why should it be any different than any other franchise? They know the fans will buy them up

The birth of DVD's back in the mid to late 90's spawned the famous DOUBLE DIP. A movie would release then months later receive a special edition. This is beyond normal practice at this time.

Unless I really like the movie I rarely buy blurays anymore and there's no point in getting DVDs since everything comes out on bluray now. Unless, of course, it's one of those rare older films that only have a DVD release.

Now I only buy a dvd/bluray if there is no other way to watch it. I did this with Sword of the Valiant. That film is available on torrents but not in widescreen (that I know of). It will probably be released in HD one day, though, at which point I will d/l the torrent.

The last actual DVD I watched was my wedding video which I had converted over from VHS

I buy tons of blus and some dvds. I do it for 2 reasons:
1. I'm a collector of these formats and I've always wanted a "library room" of films I can walk in and browse the shelves and choose from like an old video store. I have this and I absolutely love it. Organizing and maintaining the movies and shelves has been a hobby of mine for years now.
2. It shows monetary support for the genre I love. Most of horror is done on low budgets for the love of the films themselves. By adding my money into the market it shows that horror is a viable financial venture and more should be made.

Every "illegal download" or torrent is another dollar out of a filmmaker's pocket and is a "vote" to not bother making more horror because it's not financially viable.

As for the release of the producer's cut, it's a solid deal though I already got it on blu when Scream factory released it in their Halloween Box set.

Went to FYE yesterday and went bananas....had an in store sale of buy a used DVD get 2nd one for a $1.........I cut the buying frenzy short when my back started bothering me otherwise I probably would have walked out with far more than I did
