A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 has this weird anti sitcom vibe at times

Does anyone else pick up on this? The family scenes for some reason it kinda reminds me of like family sitcoms of the 80s era with it's brightly lit scenes at the same time it's kinda creepy. You put a laugh track to the early breakfast scene and it would work pretty well

I wish this film had the same charm that Halloween 3 and Friday 5 have, but it just doesn't do it for me.

At least Halloween went in a completely different direction and Friday 5 was basically the same thing, only with a blue and white hockey mask instead of red and white.

ANOES 2 just goes all over the map. It's not the worst thing to the point of being unwatchable (like Jason X). I just don't think it has any real charm to it. It goes with a lead man which differentiates it from the rest of the series (Nancy, Alice, Kristen, Freddy's daughter) but still...

I don't really have a problem with Nightmare 2, I just would have liked it better if it didn't screw with the mythos established in part 1. I understand they went with a different take on it and that "Freddy" represented the main character fighting his "gay" side but there's no need to break mythos and have freddy come into the real world as a slasher at the pool. That is the one scene that always ruined the movie for me and it would have been much more effective if they pulled off a mass kill in a "dream" manner like maybe the guy spiked everyone's drinks and they all passed out and then THATS when "Freddy" attacks them.

Otherwise it was an ok entry far surpassed by the superior part 3.

Fools believe bullshit that has no scientific basis, or in some cases, directly conflicts with scientific knowledge. But foolishness can be cured. We have all been fools at one time or another, and intelligent people learn from their foolish mistakes and try not to make them again." - Dave Silverman
