I'm looking forward to the MP (it better fucking have MP) just as much as the story itself.
The MP is fantastic in the first!

AI and animations are a whole nother level. I don't really like TLoU's mix of stealth and combat, but for people who like that stuff, this will be the ultimate version.
"Today we live in a society in which spurious realities are manufactured by the media, by governments, by big corporations, by religious groups, political groups... unceasingly we are bombarded with pseudo-realities manufactured by very sophisticated people using very sophisticated electronic mechanisms. I do not distrust their motives; I distrust their power. They have a lot of it. And it is an astonishing power: that of creating whole universes, universes of the mind. I ought to know. I do the same thing."

I'm just wondering how they are going to implement that combat system. I don't see it being nearly as smooth as it was during the E3 show. That seems way too good to be true.

96 on Metacritic with 86 reviews in, almost all of them calling it a masterpiece!
From God Is A Geek:
A genuine work of art, The Last of Us Part II is Naughty Dog's best game, bravest story, and proof that games can put players through the emotional wringer. A compelling yet devastating masterpiece.

Playing on Hard mode and I'm over 3 hours in and it is indeed pretty crazy, especially storywise, though it wasn't anything I hadn't already predicted. Gameplay is really fun and I love how the game lets you customize so many things.

Really putting a ton of time into this and I am still amazed with how fantastic it is on every damn level. I quite far into Seattle Day 2 and there have been times I needed to put the controller down for a bit and recuperate from the onslaught of combat and emotions. On Metacritic the game is at 96 with a fucking 3 for user reviews! The game is getting slaughtered by user reviews. Reading some of them without digging and accidentally seeing a spoiler 90% of them are written by people who seemingly have no idea what fantastic storytelling or emotions have to do in the world of video games. In today's age of Fortnite and COD the overall feel of what gamers want are games that don't make you think. I can't go into specifics here because I refuse to even come close to revealing any spoilers for TLOU2 but those that are playing through it will know what I mean. A common knock on the game I have read over and over again is false advertising! You have to be kidding me! I consider TLOU one of if not possibly the best game ever and this is already up to that level and I feel will surpass it by the time the credits roll.
As for the combat, I don't think I have ever played a game where it is this brutal and as realistic as it is here. The attention to every little detail in the world is insane. Enemies find their friends you have stealthily killed and call others by name and even refer to the bodies they find by name! It puts such an ultra-realistic take on everything going on. The banter back and forth between each and every character is beyond impressive. Even if you pan the camera around as you are performing a stealth kill the facial expressions on you and your unfortunate victim are so lifelike it is like seeing real people.
So far the biggest kick in the ass for this game which really ups the difficulty in certain situations are the fucking dogs! Ohhhh how I hate the fucking dogs.

Watching my friend play and she just finished..
Spoiler...the museum section where it was 3 years earlier
That was fantastic to watch. She just got to Seattle Day 2. So far, I am really liking how they made the knife to be reusable. I have only watched the first being played, but constantly remaking shivs would have me pulling my hair out.
And I'm not surprised it's getting slaughtered in reviews. People can't handle Ellie being a lesbian, even though it was mentioned in the first one dlc. Odds are these people just put down the worst score imaginable despite never playing it or seen anything on it. They're losers.

My thoughts EXACTLY! If you look at the user scores there is zero in-between. Even during Sony's reveal event in the live stream I was watching every game with a female character was getting extremely shady comments like "Oh another empowered woman." or "Here we go, another strong independent woman to make a point.". Seriously?
There is another major reason I have read that people are trashing it in scores and it piggy-backs off what you said about Ellie.
This is a SUPER spoiler so don't even hover, I'm putting extra space here as well as to not see it by mistake.
Spoiler...People are PISSED Joel gets killed (very brutally I may add) nearly 30 minutes in.
