Nah, pledged to the MST3K kickstarter. Blu rays should be arriving in a few months. At least, that's what Joel said in the announcements.

I should note that the MST3K blu rays cost a $225 pledge. So, I'm not sure if they are going to be available to the general public. If they are, hopefully they will be cheaper than that. I can see these things being resold for a higher price at first. I wish I had more money to give at the time, if I could have, I would have given the max amount. Wish I was made of money

Hopefully. I know there have been cast changes in the past, but we always needed to get used to 1-2 new cast members max. Even then, they were almost always attached to the show prior to being a big character. Mike and Mary were writers before they were main characters.

I didn't look too much into the main staff now, but I don't think any of them worked on the show previously (besides Joel obviously). Yeah, they are huge fans, but as for them performing as these characters is something I am super iffy about. Bill, Mike, Mary, Trace, Frank, Kevin, etc. all had such laid back natural comedic timing. I am hoping none of these guys overact for the sense of being overly goofy.

Hard to explain and I guess I am being picky. It's just going to have to be perfect in order to please this hardcore fan base.

Yeah I also got the bluray package. This show means so much to me I am super excited for it to come back. Being on Netflix means such a huge audience I can only hope more seasons continue if its popular enough. I'll be sure to watch it multiple times on netflix just to support it.

Welp, just watched the new episode...some positives and negatives

Spoiler...

Positives:
-The new host is on par with Mike and Joel
-The choice of Reptillicus was a good bad film
-They brought back invention exchanges and letters
-The new mads are decent

Negatives:
-The show is just too flashy.
-There was a band
-No backstory on why Crow and Servo are back on the SoL
-The writing in general is pretty awful
-All the riffs are said too quickly and go on for too long.
-There is no natural comedic timing for these guys, it's all super rushed out.
-The voices for Crow and Servo are just not funny. They speak too fast
-The riffing seems too scripted. I know it was before, but Mike and the bots/Joel and the bots made it seem so natural sounding
-There are too many riffs. Sometimes it's one riff immediately after another and I can't tell who's talking half the time.
-There are three puppeteers per bot

I know it's just a pilot episode, but man

I fucking love it! I'm only on episode 3 but I think it's great. The team needs time to get their grounding and really nail the comedic timing but I think it's still hilarious. I love the new mads and I like the band as well. Also in episode 2 when Bobo, Brain Guy, and Pearl just randomly show up I nearly creamed my pants. I'm with moviebob, I'm just so happy it back

Watching more of it, a lot of the negatives before are kind of disappearing. The band no longer bothers me, I like Crow's voice, and I like the writing now. The things that stick with me that I don't care for are Tom Servo's voice (because he either tries to imitate Kevin or use too many different voices to the point where I don't know who's speaking), and the speed of the riffs. They are still way too fast. Also, Gypsy's jokes are absolutely awful. They tried to do something unique with the character, but it's not working IMO. Sometimes there are like 3-4 jokes per scene in the film and it's just exhausting. If they slowed it down a bit, or cut some riffs out, I think it would be perfect.

Still making my way through though. I also loved that cameo.

I've watched the first 2 episodes and I feel the old magic is there.. There were several times the show gave me some genuine belly-laughs. It had some major big shoes to fil and I think they're doing a fine job of it.. there is room for improvement as DM has stated, but I think they'll hit their stride and do just fine.

With it being on Netflix, I think this would be a good opportunity to push the boundaries a bit.. take on some more hardcore cheesy movies like The Deadly Spawn or Bad Taste or Faster Pussycat Kill! Kill! .. I think having Netflix be the venue for the show could give them a bit more freedom to take on a vast realm of movies they hadn't been able to before.

About halfway through. It's fun the only major bitch I have is gypsy riffing, it just feels forced to me. Otherwise no major issues
