So, European countries get all these amazing music festivals that last for days. Up until last year, the US has only had those touring fests like Ozzfest and Mayhem Fest. Last September, however, the US had its first metal fest that was called Full Terror Assault. There were plenty of metal bands and apparently it was a really good time. It was 3 hours away from me and there were only a handful of bands I wanted to see, so I didn't really want to go. It was the first year though, so maybe I just wasn't impressed with the lineup.
But, this year, Chicago and North America is getting its first proper 3-Day Metal Fest. Apparently, they will have craft beer, and a shit load of gourmet food. So far, the only band confirmed is Rammstein. They are performing their only US show here in July on that fest. Prices are a little steep (I paid 200 bucks for "floor" seating"), but just 200 bucks alone is worth it to see Rammstein. Easily, the best live show I have ever been to and quite the experience.
This time, the venue is not too far away from my house. Probably around 15 minutes away, Toyota Park is a stadium that was built about 8 years ago. The Chicago Fire soccer team play there and it's pretty nice. I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd play there a few years back and the sound was awesome. So, when the rest of the bands are announced I will post it here. But, I thought I'd tell you people about it now before the prices go up.
Oh, also, they have a layaway option so you can put 25% down a month until the show happens. That's what I'm doing.
