Cravings!
New idea for a zombie show.
It takes place in a coffee shop, 5 friends who sit on couches cracking jokes about being zombies. If they dont drink the coffee, they go crazy and start eating people!
HOLLYWOOD!!! HOLLYWOOD!!! I DID IT AGAIN!

I just hate the media that uses it as an excuse to make people watch. They know zombies have been the "in" thing recently, so they will use it to their advantage. Don't get me started on the movies, but you'll see every once in a while that a show that is normally a drama, or something far off from horror, will have a special "zombie" episode. Of course they will bust out all the horror cliches as well. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia did it as well, but I absolutely love that show, so I give it a pass.
Then you have music. Now, I know metal music and horror movies go together like peanut butter and jelly, but sometimes it gets a bit ridiculous. There is a band that I listen to occasionally called Red Fang. One of their music videos, "Blood Like Cream" is about zombies drinking beer. They don't normally make horror videos or have a death-metal style, but for that video they brought in zombies. A lot of bands will throw them in music videos. Metallica did it too with "All Nightmare Long".
It has just gotten sad because you can tell they had no original ideas of their own so they said, "hey lets just throw in some zombies and call it a day."

It's a shame, because zombie movies are amazing. It's that the filmmakers choose to use horrible looking CGI as much as they can and it takes the thrill out of it. It's not intense when a computerized zombie is chasing someone. It makes more of an impact if someone is getting ripped apart and they use practical effects. At that point, imo, it becomes art.

trying to spit zombie movies out way to quick leads to shit CGI, horrible plot holes and an overall shitty ass movie!
it is not that we need less of them it's more like we need writers/directors/special effects artists to devote more time and passion into them.
a rushed movie is ALWAYS noticeable!!!!

Thank God we have Romero's Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead to remind us how zombie movies should be done.
...and before the haters jump in... thank God we have Land and Survival to remind us how they shouldn't.

For me truthfully I think there are a ton of extremely amusing Zombie flicks out there. Unfortunately 90% of them are referred to as Zomedys. But some of my favorite Zombie movies fall into that category. Shaun of the Dead , Dog House, Dead an Breakfast an Zombeavers to name a few.
As far as a straight up Scary ass Zombie flick goes. With the exception of the Dawn of the Dead remake, 28 days an weeks(yeah, yeah I know) or Dead Girl it seems like the rest are either snooze fests like Pontypool or the Battery or complete CGI garb.
I dont know if a break is what i want just for it to slow down a lil bit.

Don't like when "the infected" in horror films are referred to as zombies who seem to run faster than The Flash upon contamination.

I think its gotten outta hand no doubt.
But with so much stuff out there these days, along with things like 28 Days/Weeks/Months whatever 3 on the horizon (despite being not zombies). I think the genre is here to stay for the time being. Also Zombieland 2 if the whole cast comes back, its probably an automatic moneymaker, etc.

outside of Billy Murray and Woody I thought Zombieland was ...meh.
I know I can probably speak for most of us here when I say....if they keep coming out(zombie flicks) we will keep seeing them regardless.
