We all know about Michael Jackson's iconic song/video Thriller, but did you know that he also had another Halloween themed video in the mid-to-late 90's? It's a legit short film/music video that runs almost 40-minutes, which is apparently the Guinness World Record for longest music video. It was directed by the late Stan Winston, who also did all the FX for the short, which explains a lot since the practical is pretty damn impressive, even for today's standards. And the CG isn't that bad either. Not only that, but the short was co-written by Stephen King himself
I never even knew this short existed until recently. Apparently it was screened at a lot of festivals at the time and eventually released on collector's sets. I guess it makes sense how I missed this since all I watched was MTV for my musical needs (back when the channel was still about music). Anyway, the short is actually kinda cool, especially when they showcase all the nice makeup FX and dancing. And the songs are pretty good too, if you like MJ's stuff, of course. I figured I'd bring this short to light for anyone who hadn't heard or seen this before and it's perfect for getting into the Halloween spirit.
And of course the obligatory Thriller post
