Looks great, but I'm going to hold off on it for a while. Still hoping for a PC announcement/release, and Rockstar really seems to like dicking over PC users by getting us to buy it on console to satisfy the hype, then releasing the PC version months down the line for us to be able to play it on our preferred platform, just like they did with GTA V and many others in the past.

We'll see.

I don't really care about the companion app. I do have to say that this game is god damn incredible so far. Everything is pretty much perfect, even if I suck at the controls (I sucked at the RDR controls as well)

I'm always weary of IGN reviews, but this seems pretty spot on

Anyone play in first person? I like to do gunfights in FP with free aim, but I do 3rd for everything else

Didn't start playing yet, but I reckon I would like 3rd person more for this type of game. We will see though. I did like first person mode in GTA V.

Head's up that if you encounter a guy with a snake bite, help him. Suck out the poison, because you meet him again in the nearby town and he'll let you buy something for free from the gunsmith

The game needs to fix its witness system, because it's too sensitive with whatever you do. I bumped into people by accident then suddenly there was a witness for "disturbing the peace" WTF

Anyone beat the game yet? I'm trying not to rush through it and explore a lot. I believe I'm around half way through it at the moment. Recently ran into some kinda backwoods hillbilly cannibal family called the Murfree Brood. Discovered their lair and wasted them all. Nasty bunch.

I'm still on chapter 4 right now. I do a lot of exploring then I may do a mission or two. I try to focus on doing as many side and random missions as possible. Made a compilation video of my playthrough thus far

Still in Chapter 2 and doing the gambler challenges.

The one challenge that can fuck itself is Gambler challenge 8, I believe. It's to win 3 hands of blackjack by hitting 3 or more times. Literally only get high cards. It's not even fun, you just spam A and have to get lucky. Worked on it for almost an hour tonight and never even close. So far it's my only down side of the game and it's not even a big deal.

Anyone else been playing this? Apparently I am 75 hours into the game. I believe I have a few missions to go. My thoughts before the game ends..

The story is just amazing. I think it's the only thing that's really keeping me playing. I like a lot of other aspects of the game, but the story and writing is really where it's at. The character of Arthur Morgan may be one of my favorite characters in a game. The amount of things you can do in RDR2 is overwhelming and I didn't touch a lot of it, but I'm glad they added in for those completionists. I thought all the animals in RDR was awe-inspiring. The voice acting of Dutch is probably my favorite in the game. I didn't look up who did the voice, I know it's the same as the first, but the man does a great job with the character. All in all, one of the best stories I have played.

However, the story has its faults too. I'll put spoiler tags up

Guarma sucked and didn't need to happen. It really was just a mess. You start off on the island with none of your weapons or boosts for dead eye, stamina, etc. I felt like the story came to a complete halt when I got there. I barely did any exploring because I just wanted out of there so fast. With that being said, the finale to leave with all the boats and soldiers shooting you was pretty awesome.

Also, this ending with John Marston is way too fucking long. I loved Arthur Morgan and to see him go was a great ending to the game. I could have done with a few missions with Marston to really go into the next game, but I just feel like this game never fucking ends. The bounties with Sadie are okay, but with that lousy gameplay, it's one of my least favorite things to do. I even avoided bounties in the first game. I am hoping this starts to wrap up soon. Although I think building your house with Charles and Uncle is a lot of fun and, oddly, satisfying, I'm ready to finally put this game down so I can start something else. I'm really interested how it smoothly transitions to the first Red Dead though.

Also, I just do not like the gameplay and I feel like I can't get used to it. I more than likely just suck at the game, but I can't stand when my horse runs into trees, or runs into wagons when in cinematic mode..It's too easy to get off track and fall down a hill. The auto aim is hit or miss sometimes. It's just kind of rough for me.

As it stands, so far I give it an 8.5/10. I know many critics are giving it perfect scores, but due to some story problems and the horrible controls (imo), I can't give it higher than that. According to my Xbox, I'm 94% done with the story. So, I know all I have left is some story missions and I'm done. I feel like I can give it a proper score.

I have, but Im still in the early part of the game. I have some other games I need to finish up before I can commit my full attention to RDD2.
