    The Void {2017}

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4255304/

    http://www.upcominghorrormovies.com/movie/void

    Directors: Jeremy Gillespie, Steven Kostanski

    https://www.facebook.com/TheVoidMovie/

In the middle of a routine patrol, officer Daniel Carter happens upon a blood-soaked figure limping down a deserted stretch of road. He rushes the young man to a nearby rural hospital staffed by a skeleton crew, only to discover that patients and personnel are transforming into something inhuman. As the horror intensifies, Carter leads the other survivors on a hellish voyage into the subterranean depths of the hospital in a desperate bid to end the nightmare before it's too late.

Ending was a bit weird, but liked the movie overall. One of the better horror throwbacks I've seen. Some cool creatures and practical effects. A high 7/10 from me

Just finished this about when you posted too Agreed, definitely a solid 7. Wish the story was more coherent but the effects and production were excellent.

    Spoiler...
Was hoping they'd go somewhere more interesting with it after the cop shoved the dude through the portal.

Yeah the story is a bit iffy, but I give it a pass since it's an homage to a lot of the greats from the past.

    Spoiler...
Was also hoping to see a bit more of the other world at the end instead of just a big pyramid.

Yep. Great use of practicals. Acting a bit iffy at times, but overall a solid, decent horror watch. T'was some weird mojo afoot in this one. My type of strange.

Have to agree with you guys on this one; I'd give it a 6.5 and it would have rated a little higher without that cryptic ending

The ending is from Lucio Fulci's The Beyond:

Can't believe nobody else noticed that.

Actually I did, but couldn't remember which Fulci film...still don't like the ending

This film took from several horror films, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit

I did not enjoy it much, the fact it takes from several horror movies doesn't bother me, except that it wasn't much more than that. The acting is pretty bad and the movie is boring.

There is one practical effect scene I really liked, though, when the demon thing is impaling itself on this metal thing sticking out of the wall.

The ending was fine by me, and I actually kinda dug it. The final scenes conclusion was interesting to the point of it being a big tease on the imagination fueling speculation. I'd love a sequel to this starting where this one left off.

I dunno, I think we are all craving a truly good horror flick that is reminiscent of some of the older creature features with practical effects and a weird story are settling for what is given to us. This was decent at best for me. It is very boring, it copies from way too many films to be a film of its own accord, and the acting is downright awful. Yes, it's a horror flick who cares about acting blah, blah, blah...not an excuse because it is fucking distracting here. It's not total poop due to some of the effects and the throwback feel but it is damn close.

That's what I've been trying to say. The film does not stand on its own. It's like they just cobbled together bits from old horror films.
