    Star Trek: Discovery

I dont know why im surprised, i guess with the popularity of Doctor Who i was thinking Netflix/CBS would take a look at Star Trek TOS and TNG, understand that the thing that made them amazing was a common theme and maybe, just maybe, we could have a good Star Trek again....... but apparently not.

I dont often say stuff like this, but this is PC bullshit when it does not need to be PC bullshit... its fucking lazy and im tired of it.......... and now im pissed off.

I kinda burned out on Star Trek when they were running Deep Space 9, Voyager and there was one other series, but can't recall. I missed the original airdates for TNG due to an unexpected Westpac cruise, so I had to do a lot of catching up to do when I got back

It was Rick Berman, he's the one who fucked star trek.
This man worked with Roddenberry for over a decade and some how this moron never caught on that the whole idea of ST, the thing that made it great, was the idea of discovery, of working through problems without violence where violence was the absolute last resort, of understanding other creatures, aliens, people, etc. Berman came in after TNG for TNG movies and other series and it went right to killing people and 'splosions.

    Roddenberry's Picard:

    Berman's Picard:

I cant tell if this new series is worse than Berman. But they seem to think the message of diversity, inclusion, understanding people and cultures is going to be represented with a few asian characters and women but lets go ahead and keep the mindless action and murder that Berman introduced to the series.

agreed with Berman. Now that I have had time to think about it; there may not have been a third ST series at the time, but may have actually been thinking of Babylon 5

It look's good but i'm not happy with this all access which is believe is online only so it look's like i'll have to wait until it hits streaming online for free instead which usually only takes a day even less.

So i gave this a shot and... meh... its not bad. There's pieces of it that feel like Star Trek and it seems to be going in an interesting direction but it seems to have most of the problems we suspected.
that said, if anyone is looking for The Next Generation style Star Trek, The Orville is as close as you'll get to real Star Trek.

The second half of season 1 has started again.
    Pretty decent.

You know... if they dropped the whole Star Trek thing, all mentions to the ST universe, the name, this would probably be one of the best sci fi shows on tv.
