I still pick up Tekken now and again but i havent really sat down and played it enough to master any characters since 3. When i pick up the latest ones, im often surprised at how much i remember, i still remember Kings one grab one kill combos, many Hwoarang and Xiaoyu combos (which won me a tourney) and moves... man... good times with Tekken.

It's gotten good reviews and seems to be an entire game...something rare for fighting games recently. I might pick this up on a steam sale

I am actually into the FGC and Tekken 7 is best on PC by FAR. PS4 has 7.2f of input lag Xbox One has about 6f of input lag, but X1 has over 40 seconds of loading time and is the worst graphically at 720P. PS4 is only able to run it at 864P can't even do 900P. On PC I can run it in full 1080P with less input lag, better online, and on high settings at 60 FPS easily. Xbox one takes twice as long as PS4 to load a match and has a low resolution, but has less input lag. PC is the best version, the console versions are trash at the moment and suffer from multiple online issues and are compensating in certain areas to keep a stable 60 FPS. PS4 pro can do 1080P but not as well as PC and is forced to scarfice some things to keep a stable 60FPS. PS4 Pro also cannot do 1440P or 4K like PC. The game itself is great on PC, the console versions are kinda trash though. I do own a X1 but wouldn't touch T7 on X1 it's too inferior to PC.

It is much more technical than either of those games, requiring korean back dash inputs of B,B,DB,Nuetral,B,DB,N,B to make your back dashes and spacing safe. Then there is all the frame data, side stepping, wave dashing, and punishment required to play at a decent level. Injustice and MKX are awesome games for Casual players who only want single palyer content, competitively they have cash in the tourney scene but horrid balance and lack luster game mechanics. FGC generally refers to Iinjustice 2 as InjustASS 2. I have a moded stick with a brook board and installed a korean stick for tekken. Least laggy PCB on the market and works on PC/X1/PS4/PS3/360.

Yah, im not sure why anyone would suggest Tekken is less "in depth" than MK or Injustice. Tekken, for the longest time, was possibly one of the most complex and deepest fighting games you could find. Very few compare or compete. VF was one... Guilty Gear... im sure theres one im missing. But MK, any bit complexity it has gained over the years was a mimicking Tekken and by extension i think this would hold true to Injustice.
Who did you hear that from DM?
I have yet to play 7, but as long as it sticks to the traditional play models (which i heard it does) its anything but shallow. Give me a few hours and ill tell you how it is, im installing now.

Yeah VF was more technical than Tekken. Even after 5 years of playing the recent version and studying the frame data and dash cancelling system, I still have a long ways to go, but that's the nature of VF. I am the #1 Offline VF player in Washington State and probably the PNW region now since I just beat Portland's best player offline in a long 20+ game set. But yah Tekken and VF are really deep games. Injustass and MK are shallow games based on zoning (injustice) and 50/50's. NRS games IN2 and MKX are generally laughed at in the competitive gaming scene outside of their prize pool money. They are just to focused on 50/50's and zoning is EXTREME in Injustass2. Like I said for single player content for casuals they're great, at a competitive level in terms of depth they are shallow games that get nowhere near VF, Tekken, GG, or other highly complex fighting games.

I meant the offline/story mode. In MK and Injustice, there are lot of extras that require many many hours of grinding to unlock. The Treasure Battle system in Tekken is fun, but I'm unlocking stuff quite frequently. All I meant, just an opinion. I don't take fighting games as seriously as others really. I dabbled in online a bit and the loading wasn't too bad at all, but maybe I have a higher patience for that stuff since I don't play online frequently in most games. It seems that MK and Injustice have far less move sets as Tekken, but I didn't really notice it before this conversation I notice that a lot of people play these games competitively while I just play them occasionally when I am in the mood. Apparently, it shows how ignorant I am to the type of game.
All in all, I am having a lot of fun with Tekken. I beat the story and individual character stories in about two days of casual playing. It brought back a lot of nostalgia from the PS1/2 days growing up and for that I feel that it was 100% worth the price of the special edition and that statue.
And can confirm that it looks terrible on X1

A game I really want but have no time for. Reading all this you can tell a lot of care went into making it the the best Tekken yet. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they even have all the music from all previous Tekken games in this! Is that true???

I heard they didn't include all the great modes that were in previous Tekkens like Tekken Force, Tekken Ball, mini games, etc
That's a big letdown, I can remember playing Tekken Ball for hours against my friends back in the day.

What a game. The gameplay is still the same, a little tweaked but its pretty easy to adjust to.
It looks amazing at max settings 1080. Namco really nailed it with this one.

The only one I have been playing as is Eliza. She is the DLC character and I have been doing well with her.
Also, with the special edition, I got a code for Tekken 6 for free. Nice little bonus.
I heard there are other modes coming as DLC sometime soon.
The only fault I have with the game is no season pass with the special edition and how terrible it looks on X1. Other than that, it's really fun.

You should try learning these
Took me quite a while to learn the three 99%+ damage ones, but man they are fun. I havnt tried them in 7 yet though. I question if they left them in becasue its a situation where if you know these, you get that one grab in, its done. Match over.

Not really for me. Fighting games, for me to get into them, are few and far between for me. The only game I can really play on a competitive level is Smash Bros. for WiiU. I couldn't even get into Melee that much. But, I digress
I'd like to be able to sit down and master a Tekken character, but it just doesn't seem to be in the cards for me at the moment. Maybe if I get some more time from other games I will come back to that King video. My back log is enormous at the moment. For now, I am enjoying the hell out of Tekken, but not really on a serious level
