    Thumbs down The Funhouse

Seen this last night on Amazon Video. Great pile of shit, really. But as a one off viewing, it was probably so-so. I thought it would be great - I do recall the creepy poster art and it's directed by Tobe Hooper, and while it was a bit creepy, it was nothing hot. But safe to say, the monster was a redeeming factor, and if you want to see Tobe at his worst, I recommend you check out The Mangler.

I really enjoy this horror film, it has some great atmosphere, the main characters are kinda dull but it has some good tension.

I watched this again recently and as @Faust said, the atmosphere really is top notch. I hadn't seen it in many years and I really enjoyed it. Hooper had some real nice shots in this movie that carried over into Poltergeist.

No problem here with this movie. I actually own it on DVD. 80's horror at its best!

I own this on DVD as well and would put it above 90% of the horror films made since the 80's.

That woman at the end was creepy. Why are old ladies wearing rags with yellow teeth so weird?

i own it. but I've never been able to finish it; always fall asleep half-way through. i did like the look of the monster. and funhouses, in general, are creepy. but what a boring cast.

Because Tobe Hooper directed it, I think that's why people flocked to see it. Some people don't read reviews. This was pre-Internet, mind you.
