    Summer of Night

Looking to cash in on the money grabbing antics of horror movies set in the past comes Summer of Night, an adaptation of one of my favorite books of all time.
Dan Simmons is one of my favorite writers and his books are visceral works of art that really tap into what can scare you.

I have read this book a dozen times and can picture scenes from it as if it were already a movie. I doubt an actual movie can do this book justice.

However here is a link explaining it all and how if this is a hit can produce a franchise (all of which books I have read numerous times).

Sounds interesting. I'd watch it for sure. Probably going to put the book on my list as well.

The spin-offs Children of the Night and A Winter Haunting aren't true sequels but more of ongoing stories of some characters. Both those books are also outstanding.
Children of the Night is a vampire novel set in Romania which is phenomenal. A Winter Haunting is a creepy "going back home" story also
featuring a main character from Summer. This one is tied more directly to Summer.
