Its not terrible, not great but worth a watch.
And just a tip, you kind of have to force yourself through the first couple episodes.

Personally I was hooked from the start. The first few eps are definitely slow paced, but I still found the story/characters really interesting

It's a pretty good series overall with solid writing and interesting characters. Agree with others that the first couple of eps. are slow burns, but that rarely bothers me providing they're substantive, and of that there's plenty here to spare. I really dug this show a lot, and i'm stoked about it being renewed. Recommended.

This latest season is so good and I read recently that the creators plan to go 5 seasons overall Hopefully next season won't take as long to come out

Excellent show. This second season is just as good as the first. If the movie Zodiac didn't prove that David Fincher has a knack for period true-crime storytelling, this show sure as hell does. My only real complaint (aside from some of the liberties taken with the true stories the show is built upon) is that the seasons are too short. Otherwise, this is crackerjack storytelling.

I just finished both seasons of this.

I loved the first season so much. The actors that portrayed these serial killers all did a fantastic job. The main characters were well written and it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. Wendy and Gregg didn't have much to do in season 2, but the serial killer interviews were still great. I was getting a bit sick of Atlanta by the end of it, however the great acting and writing of the season kept me glued.

It's criminal that there is no season 3. Season 2 ended on so many cliffhangers that I was dying to know what happened. According to Fincher, he was really wiped out from filming and would love to go back to the show "some day". I don't understand how you can just cut off a show like this. I know Covid really screwed the pooch, but Jesus I was invested.

In January 2020, Netflix revealed that Mindhunter season 3 was on indefinite hold. “David is focused on directing his first Netflix film Mank and on producing the second season of Love, Death and Robots,” a Netflix rep told TVLine. “He may revisit Mindhunter again in the future, but in the meantime felt it wasn’t fair to the actors to hold them from seeking other work while he was exploring new work of his own.”

I read another interview in which Fincher said he had a five-season plan for the show. Meanwhile, it's now been two years (almost to the day) since the second season premiered. At this point, I highly doubt he'll be picking it back up.

Which is too bad. I can personally do without the sojourns into the primaries' private lives (not really much there you haven't seen before) but the investigations and, especially, the interviews with the serial killers (which I understand are taken from real transcripts) are excellent. The guy who plays Ed Kemper is especially good. And fun fact: Damon Herriman, who plays Manson in season 2, also played Manson that same year in Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time In Hollywood."

I don't know that it was Covid; I think it was primarily just Fincher calling it off. They did the same thing with Kim's Convenience, the Canadian sit-com Netflix picked up a couple years ago. The creator basically felt like he'd run out of ideas and just called the whole thing off, despite having been approved for another season. They ended up having to basically revamp the last half of the season and rush to a conclusion.

I get that losing the creator can affect the feel of a show, but the writers, crew and actors are all still there, they could get a new showrunner who can maintain the feel but bring in new ideas as well. It's a total waste of a lot of talented people who were committed to continuing.
