Yeah, despite all the negative press I'm still playing the game. I'm like level 128 right now I think. I've pretty much done all I can do in the game; explored everything and done all the main quests, so I'm just farming for mutations/better weapons. I don't participate in any kind of pvp at all. Overall, I've enjoyed the game to an extent, even though I still get disconnected or the game crashes

Good to hear. When this game inevitably goes free to play (if it already isn't), then I will probably play it. I'm a big fan of the fallout franchise and on the road to 100% every Fallout game. I only 100%'ed Fallout 4, but it's a start!

Looks like Bethesda is finally adding some new stuff to the game starting next month.

I thought I'd update on what's going on with the game as of late. Currently the game plays a lot smoother than it did at launch now that Bethesda has fixed many of the bugs. Unfortunately I still get freezes and crashes often and disconnects on occassion. Aside from that I don't really encounter many issues playing the game itself.

As I mentioned in my previous post they finally introduced some new quests and even a new "dungeon" for endgame players. My thoughts on the new stuff:

    BREWING & DISTILLING
This was the first to get introduced during this "Wild Appalachia" update. It introduced a couple new quests that would ultimately let you brew your own alcohol. The quests were super easy and were done under 15 minutes. The alcohol is alright since it gives you new temporary perks/boosts, but I personally don't use it. This was a lame update, in my opinion and for anyone that find no use from drinking alcohol in the game.

    FASNACHT PARADE
This was a limited event that I believe lasted a week or so. The quest was pretty easy and could also be done around 15 minutes, but it was a timed event that only occured during a certain period, so it was only available briefly, depending on the server you're on and how long you have to wait for it to reset again. The only thing good about it was being able to get one of many unique masks that you can wear. I was only able to do it a handful of times, so I didn't really get much out of it.

    SURVIVAL MODE
The game is now split to Adventure (PVE) and Survival (PVP). I don't mess with PVP at all, so I have no comments for this mode, but I may mess with it in the future.

    SHEAR TERROR
So far this has been the best update for the game. It introduced an interesting and longer quest that ultimately leads to a new endgame boss, who is super tough. He drops some decent loot as well. There are also a handful of smaller quests that you can do for fun.

    NEW DUNGEON
There is a new underground area that Bethesda called a "dungeon" that was introduced shortly after the Shear Terror patch, which they boasted as being for people level 50+ and to bring friends since it's supposed to be "hard." That's far from the truth. The so called "dungeon" was incredibly disappointing. For one there's no boss at all. The whole thing is ultimately you traversing the sewers and fighting a bunch of ghouls and scorched until you reach the end where you fend off against a dozen robots coming at you. Like I said, there's no boss, so any loot you may get will just be dropped from regular mobs. It's also not hard at all if you're a decent level. All the mobs are around 40/45, so it's nothing when you're level 132 like myself.

    OVERALL THOUGHTS
So far many of the new quests have been disappointing, but SHEAR TERROR with its new quests and endgame boss and the new dungeon are at least a step in the right direction, but Bethesda still has a lot more to introduce to make me say that it's worth the price tag (whatever it may be at this point).

Now's a good chance to try out the game since there's a free trial going on right now that lasts until the 17th. The game has improved quite a bit since it was released and with NPCs finally coming later this year I'd say the game will soon be worth finally picking up if you haven't grabbed it yet.

I wouldn't go that far. Shady practice after shady practice confirms that Bethesda doesn't know what the hell they're doing with this game. Npcs should have been added from the get go. They can barely get the game to function normally and noe they're adding in a battle royale and npcs, plus additional content? I don't really trust it personally. If this game is like 5 bucks I will buy it, but I will wait for the kinks to get out of this new content personally.

Agreed. Good to see they've been adding more to the game, including finally adding NPCs....but it just feels like they're slowly completing the game rather than releasing additional content for the game. And I personally think adding in a BR mode is just stupid, but then, I'm not a fan of BRs or the trend surrounding them, so that may just be me. I've lost most of my confidence in Bethesda, so I have very little desire to play the game at all, even for free. Maybe someday down the line when it's heavily discounted and what I feel is actually "complete", I may give in to try it out, but for now, I don't have much trust or desire in giving Bethesda anything until I see something better coming from them.

Understandable feelings. I personally feel like they're very slowly making up for things, but it'll definitely take a while to win a lot of people back. I'm just trying to look at the best of it since I've been playing the game since the beginning. On that note--I tried that BR mode earlier and it's alright. It just throws you in random teams and sometimes you only get one or two other people instead of a full team of 5. I'm sure it'll more fun when I actually play with people I know, but as of right now it's decent, but I'm personally not a fan of battle royale's or PVP in general, so it's not something I see myself playing much with.

I haven't played since they announced subscriptions, but I'll probably return sometime before this new DLC comes out.

So the new Wastelanders DLC finally came out last month and both my characters have played through it and we're now just grinding through the endgame. So is the DLC worth finally getting the game? I'd say yes, but still only at a discounted price.

Adding NPC's to the game FINALLY makes it feel like a legit Fallout game. Not only that, but the quests they offer are much more fun and interesting than most of what we had before. You can also add companions to your camp that offer perks and additional quests. Even if you've played the game before, now's a good time to come back since they revamped a lot of old areas/buildings and added more NPC's in locations that might've previously been desolate or abandoned. I know a lot of people just started brand new characters just so they can experience all the new and old stuff the game has to offer without missing anything.

The new DLC makes the world feel more alive, interesting, and more Fallout overall. The endgame is an expected grind, but it does offer a lot of opportunities to get new weapons and armor. I'm currently aiming for some new armor, along with attempting to put a new pistol together. The game still has its fair of issues here and there, the servers are mostly stable now, but you may still encounter a weird glitch or exploit, but there's nothing I'd consider "game breaking." If you can scoop the game up for $40 bucks or less, I'd say now's the time to grab it.

If anyone has been wanting to try out the game, but have been on the fence about buying it, there's a FREE trial going on right now that lasts until the 26th. You can play the whole base game and DLC's absolutely FREE

If anyone wants to play I can offer a free code for the game on PC. I bought it for $11 bucks for a friend, but turns out he got it already during the steam sale, so I'm left with it. Whoever replies first can have the code

Aw, man. I would totally take you up on this but I don't have a PC game controller, and I find playing with a keyboard frustrating. Damn you, fickleness!
