    Arachnophobia Remake

    http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/jame...chnophobia-282

Nope. Nope, nope, nope. I can recall seeing the cover-art for Frank Marshall's ARACHNOPHOBIA in video-stores (remember those?) at a young age, and although it was devoid of spiders, I knew all too well what the title was referring to. It would be many years later before I could stomach watching the film for the first time, and now it appears that thousands of creepy crawlies are destined to fill our screens once again.

Deadline reports that Amblin Entertainment and James Wan's Atomic Monster are in the early stages of developing a remake of ARACHNOPHOBIA. Although Wan won't be helming the remake himself, he will be guiding it along as a producer. The original 1990 film starred Jeff Daniels and John Goodman and found a "large spider from the jungles of South America accidentally transported in a crate with a dead body to America where it mates with a local spider. Soon after, the residents of a small California town disappear as the result of spider bites from the deadly spider offspring. It’s up to a couple of doctors with the help of an insect exterminator to annihilate these eight legged freaks before they take over the entire town." As mentioned, development is still in the early stages, but James Wan and Amblin will be setting a writer to the project shortly.

I can only imagine how bad this movie would be as a remake.
