Big time rumors that this entry will be vastly different than the first 2 and be about the case
of The Southend Werewolf!

Details on the script THE CONJURING 2 co-writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick is crafting for THE CONJURING 3 have not been revealed, but Farmiga has said that she heard the script

"has something to do with some werewolf case. I was given a book by Lorraine and Tony, her son-in-law, who has moved into the Ed Warren position in that family, and there’s a book called ‘Werewolf.’ But I’ve not read it yet, so I am sure the answers are in that."

Having the Warrens face a werewolf would definitely make THE CONJURING 3 different than its predecessors. The case of "the Southend Werewolf" was one the real Warrens investigated in the 1980s.

I absolutely love The Conjuring movies. They are creepy, filled with good scares and hit the spot. After seening every show at every theater near me sold out I said fuck it, Ill watch it at home. I got my Twizzlers, seltzer (non alcoholic), turned off all my lights and got comfy on my couch, I was honestly very excited!

My excitement was slowly sucked from my soul like trying to drink a Dairy Queen Blizzard through a straw. It took less than 15 minutes for me to realize this is not a Conjuring movie. It deviates from the formula immediately and not for the good. Yes you can't have a franchise continue exactly the same but this movie takes the scares and creepy feeling and throws them out the window. Dare I say it's actual a boring movie! Once I realized where the story was going, which was really early I knew it would be a long 100 minutes to sit through and expected nothing remotely close to the first two films, I was right.

One review synopsis I saw before seeing the movie said this entry has the best "evil" protagonist in the series. Well this person either did not see the first two films or watched the 2nd one thinking it was this. Not only is the protagonist in this third entry the absolute worst in the series but the worst in the entire Conjuring Universe...BY FAR. This is a huge reason why the movie is just so damn boring. The fun vibe of the fist two films are nowhere to be found here, neither are the scares or creepy and tense atmosphere.

The bright spots are Wilson and Farmiga who are fantastic. Their story and chemistry are the best part of the movie and both performances are as good as it gets. At the midway mark I wanted the story to strictly focus on their past and their relationship. The only time I found myself enjoying the movie is when they were on the screen and actually feeling the chemistry between these two characters. The ending made me smile and gave me goosebumps because of these actors and the characters they portray. Maybe I'm just a big mush now but I absolutely love the ending which focused on them. The actual end was a bore, and the definition of anticlimactic.

Outside of Wilson and Farmiga, Chaves did a fine job with directing this snoozefest and has great talent for framing his shots and sweeping camera work. The movie looks great, Farmiga and Wilson are simply amazing but the movie could not be more disappointing.

I'm pretty much only going to watch this for Farmiga and Wilson. I really don't get why this series is so popular. The actual Warrens are con artists and the movies are super far up their ass. It will be interesting watching this since I don't care for the other movies. Maybe I'll actually like this one.

Agreed. It puzzles me why actors of Farmiga's and Wilson's considerable talents continue to waste them on this over-polished turd of a series. I thought the first was average at best, but felt that much like Wan's other franchise (the Saw films) it got worse and worse with each new entry. And also like the Saw series, I gave up after the third film. I actually read the script for The Nun before the movie came out and it was straight up one of the worst horror scripts I'd read in years. I don't see myself bothering with any more of these films.

The second one wasn't the best, and the spinoffs are hit and miss... but this franchise became the new saw... where i knew the film wouldn't be great, but i watch it because i love the series. This just was terrible... my biggest hate... and this is a spoiler... so stop reading if you don't want to be spoiled.... The fucking person. All the previous films are demons/spirits etc.... even the spinoffs. This one, yes has a demon, but also has a satanic witch. Once a real life person is the "bad guy", it takes away from the whole film.

This! It also had major implications on the tone of the movie and put what we want to the side and almost completely out of the picture.

Weakest of the three, but still a good movie, in my opinion. Some creepy scenes, but nothing nearly as creepy or scary as we got in the first two. Story was interesting, but not very strong and sadly it dragged a bit at times too. Either way, I'd hit it with a low 7/10
