Never read the books, but played all three of the games on PC. This series doesn't look too bad. Still not sure about Henry Cavill playing Geralt tho

Anyone catch the show? I finished it yesterday and while I did like it, I still can't help but feel a bit disappointed. I have two major issues with the show: It focuses too much on Yennefer and the pacing is pretty slow at times to the point of being kind of boring. Each ep is about an hour, so there's quite a bit in each one. Unfortunately since the action is so few and far inbetween there's a lot more talking and character development than I'd prefer. Normally I would like the extra character development, but not when it's about a character that I don't care much for AKA Yennefer.

Aside from that, Henry was great as Geralt, even down to the voice. The production values were solid and when there was action and focus on The Witcher himself I was completely entertained. There's a weird timeline difference that's not revealed until some eps in that's a bit confusing at first, but it starts to make more sense from then on. Hopefully next season will be better paced now that the story will be more focused and characters have been established. At the moment I'd give it a 7/10

Yeah, I think ep 4 is when you will get a better idea of when these events are taking place

Some pacing issues, I could have done with a little more monster slaying action. Also it took me a while to get used to the guy playing Geralt, but in the end I thought he did a good job.

I just found out that a Witcher movie was made back in 2001 from Poland

Started season 1 back up after dropping it 2 eps. in last time around. I finally got into the show, and overall it's a postivie experience.

The only drawback i had to it was the sometimes confusing back and forth timelines - made even more confusing due to some characters that very slowly, or don't seem to age at all.
Nothing that isn't realized as the series unfolds, and nothing too ambigious to grasp providing you're paying attention, but the series would benefit a little bit from better self explanation.
After all... it's a fairly entertaining monster and magic gig - not really a show that you should have to throw down anything north of average brain power for to enjoy.

Ready for more seasons though, and after watching this i was kind of in the mood, and fired up to play Witcher 3, but greedy Microshite can take their digital dl prices for 6 year old games and stick it

Yeah I saw that too which only further adds to my frustration.

I haven't had a gaming rig in years, but instead have a decent laptop that could run it, but nothing like the experience I would want, and would be happy with. I can pick it up a bit cheaper on amazon, but at the time i was looking at the digital download in a spur of the moment kind of thing, and the moment has passed. I'll probably still go the amazon route most likely unless the M store has a sale or price reduction when i'm back in the mood to start it.

The first part of the season was kind of a disappointment considering Henry's on his way out. It started strong, but fizzled by the end. Hopefully this second half is an improvement.

TBH i watched the first 3 episodes of season 3 and quit. personally i think the writing has went to shite. probably done with this series. sad considering i liked season 1 and 2 for the most part.

Yeah it is sad, especially since season 2 was an improvement over the first, in my opinion

Finished the new season recently, and yeah, it's bad. The biggest issue (aside from the writing) is the pacing. There are just some eps that are horribly paced. I think I liked maybe two eps out of the whole season, with my favorite probably being the first ep in part 2 since it was the most action packed. I'm not looking forward to the next season, especially with Cavel being replaced. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the last season.
