Wow...fucking WOW. This game turned out to be even WORSE than I predicted.

Yeah now I'm very concerned about the other Silent Hill "games" Konami's gonna shit out now....I'm VERY concerned.

This is not how you want to kickstart the releases for your new Silent Hill games...Jesus Christ...

Sounds like an interesting idea, kind of has a PT feel to the premise being stuck in a villa uncovering the disturbing mystery of what happened to your friend, but I'll reserve judgment until I see some gameplay footage. Seems odd that this article neglected to mention "Silent Hill F" as one of the games Konami announced along with SH2 remake, Townfall and ugh...Ascension.

I watched a playthrough of the game on YouTube. It's an okay game. It's leagues better than Ascension because for one thing you can actually PLAY in the game, the graphics aren't complete ass and the story it tackles is pretty hard-hitting, but that's not saying much. Its narrative and characters are all too simplistic, it doesn't know when to be subtle with its dark and disturbing themes it doesn't really have any business getting into, it is a nice throwback to P.T. but without much of the nuanced gameplay, the voice acting is very silly and makes all the disturbing content that SHOULD'VE been subtle come off like it's smashing the horror into your head that it comes off very tasteless and unintentionally comedic at times.

Despite the negatives I have to say I do like the look of the monster that chases you throughout the game, the subtle visual imagery is reliably scary, creepy and disturbing, I like how it uses art as a framing device to attempt to convey a personal story, I would like to see this story reworked and better fleshed out and not just be a shocker horror game like in the 2010s or something without much substance.

It's free and from what I understand it's a beta testing game for a bigger game later on but as is it's just okay. Better than Ascension by a long shot, but not all together good.

Konami is really starting to dig itself a deeper and deeper grave with these disappointing Silent Hill games it's releasing up until the SH2 remake's release.

Apparently, James Sunderland got a redesign for the SH2 remake.

There isn't any updates about its release day as of yet.
