Well, it's all set for tonight.

I heard a strange rumour that Konami may half the SH2 remake as DLC.

In my opinion, that's an unacceptable business practice to gain more sales, because people that are collectors will probably be too impatient to await the release date of any physical or boxed releases.

Meh. However, at least it's back. So an enthusiastic 'yeah' is certainly in need here.

The last game they chose to reveal has this very interesting looking, "cherry blossom boss woman" in it. And the game supposedly takes place in Japan, in the 60s. At least according to IGN.

But oh boy. Was this stream just the strangest?

The SH2 remake looks impressive. Some folk aren't impressed by James Sunderland and his new looks. But I think he looks fine.

The dialogue also sounds very faithful as well.

Welp, I suppose I was wrong about Konami being terrible at announcing their games…for now. But I’ll be fair and give them the tiniest, intsy-wincy, teeny tiny, microscopic benefit of the doubt to the cesspool company that is Konami and say what I think of the announcements because there’s a lot here.

First, Bloober’s Silent Hill 2 remake looks good, I look forward to it yet some of the voice acting is a bit meh…I’m also aware that Bloober delving into stories of real psychological trauma is very bad and completely unacceptably naive, but who knows? Maybe they’ve learned their lesson maybe and this will be a great update to an already great game that Konami lost most of the original code for and fucked up the HD collection showing very little to no respect to their most beloved properties.

Just keeping everyone aware.

Silent Hill: Townfall so far has nothing much to show but it’s great we’re getting a new Silent Hill game in the works and hope development goes smoothly, I’m open to what the team has in store and hope it’s good and unique.

Until Konami finds a way to fuck it up horribly like they did to the highly anticipated and unforgivably cancelled Silent Hills. To which it would suck if that happens but I won’t be surprised because it’s Konami.

Silent Hill: Ascension I have ZERO interest in, it’s going to be another shitty SHITTY “live service” game that can only be multiplayer which isn’t scary and it’s gonna run like shit and it’s going to be a huge disappointment. Lest we forget Marvel’s Avengers, Anthem and Fallout 76. So yeah don’t care about this shitty idea.

Silent Hill F looks very beautiful…in the trailer with no gameplay which is disappointing because I’m sick of game trailers with no gameplay because it’s just setting us up for disappointment, but I’ll reserve judgment until we get more on this, it looks unique and I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt like Townfall.

Return to Silent Hill I’m very excited for, while 2006’s Silent Hill was a so-close-yet-so-far kind of movie with a bad script, underdeveloped characters, very uninspired story but retained the amazing atmosphere, music and practical monsters…hopefully Gans has a good writer who can help him translate Silent Hill 2 the game into a good movie yes we’re FINALLY getting a screen adaptation of one of the greatest horror games of all time and while the story and characters were crap in the first one, Gans definitely has the vision for a Silent Hill movie and I’m super looking forward to this movie.

Anything is better than fucking Silent Hill: Revelation 3D…Jesus fucking Christ.

So with that all said, I’m looking forward to these as they develop. But also I can’t help but feel cynical that somehow in some way Konami likely WILL fuck up these projects in some way or another. I hope I’m wrong. I would love to be wrong about this.
Until then it’s just a waiting game. No pun intended.

So glad that Silent Hill is back, looking forward to all the games except for Ascension. And all those statues I want, especially the Mira Statue. Hope these games are good though. I think the last good Silent Hill was Silent Hill 4 IMO.

Why base a game outside of the US now, and set it in Japan? As of 2022, no previous games in the franchise have had anything to do with Japanese people. Unless there's something I missed.

I reckon because Capcom has set some of their Resident Evil games in villages, Konami is just trying to copy that because J-Horror is way more creepy then American horror films, which are basically repetitive and gory, in an over the top way. But it feels like such a departure artistically.

Of course, I don't mean to jump to conclusions. We've yet to see any actual gameplay, and I guess there would have to be a connection to the lore in some way to make the storyline make sense.

It's possible Silent Hill could have originated in a Japanese village before it moved into the Americas if we're going by the Cult logic which isn't the strongest suit that can carry a whole series, so I'm gonna say whatever infected Silent Hill in America surely there's more than one Silent Hill in different parts of the world and by the logic that it's the fear of the unknown that's much better.

But I have to agree it is Konami's shoddy attempt to ape off of Resident Evil 8: Village but in all honesty if they can make some crazy cool monsters and if the story is really good as well as the characters I could care less about the setting, though this is Konami wanting to have its cake and eat it too and we've yet to see anything from a nice-looking CG trailer so we'll just have to wait and see. I'm open to it.

Like I said before, ZERO interest in Ascension due to it being a live service game, but these monsters don't look abstract enough and it doesn't even look or feel like a Silent Hill game it looks more like The Evil Within and Dead By Daylight, it's trying too hard to be scary on top of being a multiplayer game that just kind of sucks out the horror, towards the end when that fleshy butterfly monster floats down and then has delayed stabbings on the guy looks really bad and hilarious!

Still waiting for more info on Silent Hill: Townfall and Silent Hill F.

I think what he means is, the interactive show isn't really a game. It's a series where you somehow shout in a chatbox and then it changes how the story plays out. If you disable the chat mode, then it is like watching a cable television show.

It has been nearly a year since the remake or those two spin offs had any updates.
